Tikka T3 vs Sako A7

Just wondering what everyones thoughts are on the new Sako A7? Picked one up the other day and found the synthetic stock to be quite cheap, the T3 is alot nicer in my opinion.

I am not sure I would spend the extra $300 for the A7 over the Tikka t3. I have a t3 and love it. I guess I was expecting a little more of a "sako" quality and feel from the A7.
 
What do you expect for a $1000 Sako A7.

If you want a Sako...buy a model 75 or 85 IMO. I would say the A7 stock would be comparable to the T3. I do not like the T3 synthetic stock...thats why my T3 rifles are in the laminate stainless. The Sako m75 synthetic stocks are a better quality IMO.

Personally I prefer the m75 stock design over the m85...but thats me.
 
sell your T3 and your A7 and get a real three lug Sako, a 75 or an 85.....

not a half plastic Sako wannabe like the A7

I won`t mention the L and A series Sakos in the same post as the A7....oops..guess I just did....

That is exactly what I have! 30.06 in that gun. I love it, the action is super smooth the 3 lug bolt beats the piss out of anything else I have tried. The only thing I would change about it is the way the mag is held in. I have never had a problem with it but I have let a few friends shoot it. If you arn't farmiliar with the gun you will miss the "click" that says the mag is locked in. It feeds the first round then promptly drops out onto the ground when fired!
 
I think the T3 offers more value for the money. The A7 has a couple little features that the T3 doesn't, like a button to allow unloading while the safety is on, but those features don't justify the difference in cost. You're paying for the name SAKO, but you're not gaining anything of substance over the T3. The T3 is still very very accurate, and is a good value for the money.

I have a couple of A7s and a couple of 85s. All them shoot very well. It all depends what I'm doing that day but if a hike in the rocks is on the agenda that light plastic stocked A7 is the one I'm packing everytime.
 
I have the A7 in 30-06. I put some camo wrap on the forestock and cheek area to add some grip to its "slick" feel. I like it because it is accurate and light.

Ive had T3's before. Just as good.
 
i like my tikka t3 rifles never any troubles with them . they shoot well best rifle for the money in my opinion .
 
I don't like the tikka synthetic stocks except the super varmint and tacticals, I feel the same about the A7's. All my "regular" model Tikkas are laminate and my Sako's are 75's. Nothing against the 85 though either
 
is there any real advantage to the 3 lug design (sako) over the 2 lug (tikka)? I know sako guarantees a 5 shot group under an inch with the a7 and the tikka is only guaranteed a 3 shot under an inch. That guarantee itself is kind of funny when you realize the a7 clip does not hold 5 rounds.
 
The A7 is so much like the T3 is crazy. Smart of Sako to market a less expensive rifle though with the Sako name, they will sell well. Probably very accurate rifles I do not doubt.

They could have stamped the T3's with the Sako name and tossed a set of Weaver bases in the box....the end result would have been pretty much the same...

They should have done that in the first place and it would have saved them a lot of $$...
