Tikka T3

These new shrouds should work with the older rifles. Tikkas are some of the best value next to Weatherby Vanguards. I would not consider Axis as a good value rifle.

at $1150+tax for a new T3X stainless lite, maybe they're pushing the envelope for the term 'value'

Who has actually cracked their bolt shroud?

Was it caused by going in and out of a car and the condensation freezing or what?

I haul my tikka through all kinds of #### in various weather conditions and have never even approached damaging the shroud. I did fall on my ass and knock the front sight hood off but that was not put on at the factory.

I have not.

There's no question it happens, but maybe not as much as it seems.

Dude, if you're gonna wrestle a bear with your bare hands, you need to stop falling on your a$$!!!

Hahahahahahahha!!! Happy weekend!!!

I have not seen any T3x for sale yet? What's the new price going to be ?
I paid $835 ( SS T3 lite)+ $60 for a SS bolt shroud and $50 for a recoil pad = $945

You go ahead and keep on thinking that.

They inevitably go on sale a couple time a year, and then it's a steal. Then you can afford a real scope, like a NF or S&B.....

Yeah, yeah yeah........
But then that "real" scope is on a T3. It would be like the Prom Queen riding the school Janitor.

Ya know.....good for him, but come on!

I kid....... The T3 is fine, everyone likes em, every one of them shoots in the same hole..... In every Calibre...... Every time.......yada yada yada, but "(IMO)"...... Ahem, their cost does not reflect their construction.

I have been lusting for a T3 Sporter in 6.5x55. There's nothing lacking on that rifle, with, perhaps, the exception of a plastic bolt shroud. Big deal. :)

Oh yeah.

I still have my sporter stock. Once I get 'Other' items in order I will be dropping another Varmint barreled action into it.

They are going on sale now, nearly everywhere around. Personally I've seen three people asking about the new shrouds in our store, but I'm working there just couple of hours a week. These are the best value on the market. I would buy one now if not for some unexpected vet bills lately. Some people don't understand the concept of value for the money. They tend to believe in cheap....everything (that comes from the owner of Savage rifle BTW). Quality/value wise however T3 is the best buy out there.

That was done for balance purposes.

Edit: Holy crap. I just got the joke! My original bonehead reply continues below.

Boneheaded reply:

On this one, I disagree. If there is a difference in weight between the stock piece of garbage and a limb saver, I can't feel it.

The stock pad is made the same as the soft touch stock on a sako 85 finnlight... Which is nothing special. It's just cheap. Some marketing putz came up with that "balance" line.

What astonishes me is a $2000 sako comes with the *exact* same piece of crap recoil pad!

I have come to the conclusion that Finns are simply tougher than Canadians. They load up their 9.3x62 tikkas with 300 grainers keep their concrete recoil pads and go out for a nice day of plinking at the ski in range.
