Tikka T3?

I really do not mind the look of them either to be honest!
But I am not to much for looks of a rifle, that I am going to use and abuse.

Its shinny stock I can live with personally
 
Well, I know I personally spend a lot more time looking at and fondling- er, cleaning my rifles than actually using them, so looks are as important to me as function
 
Dont get me wrong Prosper, I do the same but this is a 695 dollar tool not one of my Gold Medallions or Dakota's. I have a few t-3s and in the woods I am not looking at my firearm as I am sure your not either. But as a collector, no they would not be in the front of the display case LOL! there no a piece of art work, but they do what there were intended to do, shoot staright, and carry nice. and if you nick them un like a A Bolt, it does not hurt your feelings as much!

There not that terrible to me though, and you cant second guess the accuracy!
 
Maybe it is an age thing, I personally find the T3 (synthetic) to be a very pretty gun, some of the older folks do not. That could be an interesting thread... rate guns on their beauty but tell your age...
I am not terribly young or old (33 today actually) but I kinda grew up in an age where Synthetic were becoming popular. I do admire a nice piece of woof, but to be honest, i don't care for real fancy woods.

Kidding aside, I like nice wood stocks, but I don't like being paranoid about the finish while I'm trudging through the boreal.
 
This is not a T3, but still a Tikka that I've had for 16 years and it rocks "now modified as you can see". This set-up weighs in at 15 lbs.

bill c68 Happy birthday. My idea of good looking guns, starts with the belgium made brownings. I don't like anything that is too pretty to "use" is the cold & wet. I'm 55.

inukshuk, wow 15 lbs. Does that include the sand bag?
 
Bought a 300 WSM in Tikka T3 a couple yrs ago. I hand load and have found that it is not fussy and can easily group in the MOA range. Being a magnum in a light rifle, the gun bucks a bit at the range on the bench but in hunting, I have no complaints about the recoil.

Love the gun. It is a mainstay of mine now loaded with 165 grn TSX bullets.

I love my 2 Tikka T3 Laminate Stainless in 270WSM (wife's and mine). Great shooters. Held out an extra year (from 2003 to 2004) for the LS model as I do not care for the Synthetic Lite model-too hollow sounding. If I was going to buy a SS model, it would be in a Sako m75 rifle.

For those that like the weight of the Lite Synthetic but don't like the hollow sound... spray foam.
 
I picked up a T3 Lite stainless on the EE here and couldn't be happier. I shot this 5 shot group yesterday and pulled the 5th one (probably because I was so excited). If I would have put it in with the others it would have been the best group I have shot at 100 yards. I was using 25.5gr Benchmark and 52gr Hornady Match HPBT bullets.

I don't the hollow cheap feeling of the base t3 either, so i went with laminated stainless in all my tikka's except for my .204 which isn't available that way so i went with the super varmint. That solved the cheap feeling as well. I love them and only buy tikka's and sako's now

EDIT--- It isn't plastic used on the tikka's its a poly composite of some sort. I've read ISO tests ans its actually stronger than steel

Just got a T3 stainless laminate 300WSM shoots 1.5 inch group at 100 yards. You can drop one shell in the chamber at a time. I was questioning the plastic mag, but it seems to be OK. Hopefully someone will come up with a stainless mag and maybe a stainless trigger guard. but overall its an awesome rifle. It has quite the heavy recoil though.
