I too like the 260 Rem. Had the first Sako 85 VLS in 260 Rem in Canada with set trigger. Shot .5MOA with Federal 142 gr SGK factory ammo.
Loved the rifle, but sold it to acquire a LH rifle. Have not come across a LH 260 Rem since. Wouldn't hesitate to acquire one, if the right rifle was come along.
Also have LH rifles in 6.5 CM (X Bolt All Weather that I rebarreled to 6.5 CM when Browning announced that they would not be building them as introduced) and a 6.5x55 (Sako 85 Hunter). Both rifles will produce sub.5MOA groups with various factory ammunition. Both rifles shoot well and are a joy to shoot and hunt with. The scoped Browning weighs 8 lbs 5 oz with VX-3 4.5-14x40 B&C in Talley mounts and full magazine (4 rounds), while the Sako weighs 8 lbs 15 oz with Kahles 3-9x42 TDS in Optiloc mounts and full magazine (5 rounds). The laminated and wood stocks definitely not as light as the synthetics, but both are very attractive and warm to the touch while hunting in the late season. And just more aesthetically pleasing! (IMHO)
Ballistically, not enough difference to worry about between the 3, and no animal is going to know the difference! (Have taken whitetail, moose, elk, stones sheep, caribou, red stag, and fallow buck, and my wife took arapawa rams, from 20 to 370 yards, with these cartridges over the years. Bullets have been 120 gr Ballistic Tip, 140 gr Partition, 140 X Bullet, 129 gr Hornady, 143 ELD-X, 140 Berger, and 130 gr Terminal Ascent.)
All are fun to shoot, even from long sessions at the bench!
