Tikka T3x CTR in 6.5 Creedmoor CAN SHOOT!

I'm really glad you posted this because I've been thinking about trying the same recipe in my CTR, same cartridge except I'm running the Starline LRP brass with CCI BR-2 primers. I wasn't sure what seating depth to go with but now I think I'll start with the bullet up close to the lands. I have the 24" barrel and for the bullet to be 0.020" off the lands, the OAL is 2.885" as measured for my chamber.

Do you have any idea what you were getting for velocity or did you just run a ladder test to look for nice groups? Great shooting by the way!

I am using CCI Small mag rifle in my Lapua Brass. H4350 as listed, SAAMI cartridge length. Hornady 140gn ELD-M The 65 seems to like More space before the lands than less for whatever reason in my Tikka

I cannot place my hands on the 10 round target... I could have swore it was in my book, but I can't place my hands on it.

Bottom line, with a good chassis, a consistent load, and good mechanics, the gun will amaze you. Glad I ditched the plastic stock and went KRG Bravo from Go Big Tactical.

BTW, load is over book. I think i got a weak batch of 4350, or it was temps. Hence the slightly above book load, do not duplicate it. I worked up to this load, and have yet to try it in warmer weather.

I have a new rear bag coming. The Armageddon bag I use is like jello. It’s very difficult to keep the stock stable when squeezing. The new bag should do the trick. I have a Mapleridge Armory Defiant muzzle break on it - works wonders

i got to use a really nice bag a while back, and forgot to write down what it was. HARD as a rock though. Loved it. It was not a protektor either... but talk about an amazing squeeze on the buttstock.

Just a simple ladder test. I don't have a chronograph (saying that I'd like one .

Precision Underground makes awesome gear. Their rear bags are currently my favorite.

I'm torn between a CTR and a Stainless Varmint at the moment, both in 6.5CM.

I can't really think of any cons of going with either. Was leaning towards the Varmint but then seeing threads like these....

i would go with the varmint - then if you do not like the excellent accuracy you can always mate it up with an MDT Chassis -

I can't tell if you're complimenting MDT or poking fun.

CTR comes with a threaded barrel and much better magazine from factory.
the varmint barrel is slightly thicker, but neither barrel seems to walk when hot.
they both come with the same plastic stock, but the varmint has the bolt on beavertail on the forestock which does seem to stiffen it up.

I own both, both are equally accurate.
my vote goes to the CTR. if you put it in a chassis the magazine differences are meaningless, but having a threaded barrel out of the box saves time/money.
