Tikka t3x ctr - Rings, scopes, mags etc... Help/opinions needed!

I have a 30mm Nikon 2.5-10x50 with Leupold BackCountry Cross-Slot 30mm Low Rings Matte. The will also work but just a tad high. The lows allow the 50mm lense clear the barrel and those Leupolds are amazingly light.

All this on a CTR

If you’re using a 40mm or that 24/25mm 1-8 then definitely go with low rings.

Changing mags makes no sense to me. The CTR mag feeds slick and reliably, and is shorter than any 10 round AICS mag out there. Only reason to change is if you drop the rifle into a chassis that doesn't support the CTR mag.

Love the double stack ctr mag. However my first one drops out often during shooting I had to send it in for repair. After that it is all good.

Good info, Ill definitely trying to stay low as seem to sit low on most stock combs.

As for the mags, yeah I have no complaints about the factory mags minus the availability/cost.

Would highly recommend the vx5-HD 2-10x42 with zero stop elevation turret. I like how my ctr seems to send any ammo I feed it into the same place at 100yards. Anything from 7.62, 3 different handloads with different bullets, sako ammo, federal match ect....

May as well keep the dbm and pic rail as you've already paid for it. Grab a set of atrs rings if you do. They're rock solid and $40 cheaper than comparable nightforce rings

I hadn't considered that scope .. until now that is. Assuming you used the pic rail that came with the gun what bases/rings/height worked best for you to mount this scope? I see prophet river has vx5-HD 2-10 x42 but not sure it's the same one with elev stop. Does your scope have illuminated dot?

As for accuracy I've only had the gun out once and shot 40 rounds I wasn't doing great with accuracy but I have some scope level problems so Im sure the gun will get better when I do my part.
