Tikka T3X has so many holes in receiver, why ?

I saw this Tikka T3X, stainless and Laminated for sale on another site.

Why are there so many holes in the receiver ?

I believe it’s for ring based. Tikka and Sako tend to use optilock allot and they have some lug holes and threaded holes I think. I’m not home right now so can’t check mine.

They also have a dovetail. It’s quite the multipurpose receiver ��. Me I just stick a rail on it and cover them up cause it lets me swap scopes around freely.

It has a built in rail. Those are holes for two types of ring monts.

Because they actually use there grey matter over in finnland and there hunters and shooters themselves they have set it up for use with there opti lock system , tikka rings , weaver bases and for picitiny rail , hope this helps those tikkas are a sickness once you get one you want more

I bought a set of Optilock mounts and rings and for some strange reason the front mount or rear is smaller groove width then the other. So have to buy another set of mounts to get two the same width.

Did you buy the right ones? Sako Optilocks are tapered...
