Recently acquired a 300WM Tikka T3X Hunter on severe discount for the simple reason that there's a crack in the forend of the stock. Looks like the factory screwed the action in too tight and cracked the wood.
Tikka's warranty program doesn't cover cracked stocks from purchase (they say you should have noticed it before buying) so I'm on the hook to replace it myself. I paid so little for it so I don't even mind.
I would be fine with a Tikka synthetic take-off stock, no need to get fancy with a Boyd's stock anything as this'll just be a hunting rifle.
My question: do Tikka stocks vary in size based on magnum calibers, will a T3 stock work on a T3X, and will a Varmint stock fit as well?
Thanks in advance.
