Tikka T3x TAC A1

I've considered one as a replacement for my CTR, but I will likely stay the course and put mine in a chassis and do the spring kit.

CTR shoots just fine out to 500m with surplus ammo, so I would imagine the TAC version will be the same, better if you hand load for it.

I hit at 800m with 180gr Scenar handloads, I only had 40 rounds, but the last 20 I shot had 2 sets of 5/5 on the 8" plate, but I don't measure "groups". I just listen for the ding.

I think any issues with accuracy were user induced with those loads.

i really like everything about mine but i was turned off a little by the slightly sloppy feeling stock..

Anyone hand loading for this rifle? I have a buddy with one coming and we are going to work up some loads. I have a nice selection of components coming but if anyone has some first hand experience they want to share that would be appreciated. Thanks.

What is this spring kit you speak of ?

The Yo Dave trigger thing everyone is talking about. I actually like my factory trigger, but I'll research that other mod and maybe try it. I thought it was a new trigger spring or something. Maybe its a full trigger kit? I honestly haven't looked into it too much.

I had good luck with 180gr Scenars, but I didn't load them, so I'll ask my biddy for his recipe. And honestly, my skill level didn't allow me to shoot better with them until past 500m. At 600-700m, my surplus 147gr ammo falls off quite a bit. We are reloading 180gr for 800m, but I need more practice to get a load right.

I have one in 6.5 CM, however I only had it to the range once. It was shooting .75" to 1" in heavy wind at Edson, AB with Hornady 40 ELD's factory, but I was focusing on barrel break in (I know, voodoo, not required for a cold hammer forged barrel, but did it anyway) and dope. I would consistently get 4 rounds touching at 100M, but then I'd always throw one to make a .75-1" group. I have had two previous CTR's and TRG 22 before, all in .308, so we'll see how the accuracy is moving forward. I would have bought a TRG 22 in 6.5CM if the budget allowed, but I will settle for this, while I get used to 6.5CM. I am also interested in any other reviews especially with other ammo types. I ended up getting a 20 MOA Badger Ord unimount, as I could not get the 6.5 past 1200M with my NXS adjustment range, on a 0 MOA base. Have not tried the new mount out yet. As stated above, it came with one magazine and 5/8x24 thread pitch. I am running a Gen 2 Heathen on mine and it worked great.

Can you tell me about your bipod (height) and how it's mounted . I'd like a quick detach but don't know how to mount to the MLOCK . Do i need a short piece of picattiny rail fastened to the MLOCK ? Mine arrived , frikken beautiful .

I used a 3 rib Magpul M-lok aluminum rail section. It is the perfect length for the bipod mount.

I have two mags from a CTR - I think they are the same - that I would sell. I just bought an MDT chassis and went with AICS magazines. Full disclosure - I did slightly bend the lip of the magazine catch on both with a flat head screwdriver to keep them in place in the Tikka stock. I’d sell both for 200 bucks if anyone is interested. PM for email and pictures.

Midwest rail and Atlas PSR bipod on the way along with a stainless shroud and titanium recoil lug with bedding kit . Question for anyone , how did your factory brake index ? At 'snug' or at 'tight' ?
