Tikka Tac A1 mags?6.5 PRC compatibility?

I have a Tikka TX3 CTR chambered in 6.5 PRC and I just picked up a aTikka TacA1 chassis.
Do anybody know if there’s any aftermarket or OEM mags that will work in my Chassis?


The mag that came with the chassis,.308 would probably work , but it’s not long enough.

That’s what I thoughts.
But if you compare the mag that came with my rifle to the mag that came with my chassis, they are completely different.

The chassis mag is way thicker than the mag that came with my rifle.

Sonic,says his measure at 2.970 which would work, but it’s $200+ to find out.

I think I might just sell the chassis and go with a Cadex

Here’s a pic of the two mags.
The thicker mag is 6.5 CM from the Tac A1 chassis. The other is from my Tikka TX3 CTR, it’s stamped 6.5PRC.

Looks like I’m Out of luck as the 6.5 PRC,300 WSM mags are the skinny ones and will not fit in my Tikka Tac1 chassis
 
I read online others also having ~2.95 COL on their magazine. I think you should be fine if you do reloading.

Do you must use magazine to feed when you do target shooting? I assume you are not using it for hunting.
 
I do single load for target shooting but everything I test is potentially for hunting,so I’d like for them to fit in the mag.
I’m taking it out on a moose hunt Sunday.

If I knew for sure that the mags were 2.960I could live with that.
 
My only complaint with Tikka is there stupid mags. Just go AICS like everyone else.

Maybe get a box of factory 6.5prc ammo and see if it will fit in the CTR mag? Or ask if anyone can give you the COL measurement if they have any.

But from my understanding, the T3X Tac A1 configuration is too heavy for hunting unless you won't walk far.
 
Looks like they put regular plastic Tikka mags in the 6.5 PRC CTR?? Interesting that they went that route.
The factory CTR mags are double stacked 10 rounders, that's why they're wide.

I’ll be leaving the plastic stock on for hunting.

It looks like the chassis will only work with 308/6.5 CM
