I have not owned a Tikka yet and was hoping to get a little info from all the Tikka owners out there.

My question pertains to the trigger. How does it rate relative to:

1) Savage accutriggers
2) Stock rem triggers
3) Weatherby vanguard

I've currently changed a trigger in an Axis to a rifle basix and that made a huge and I mean huge improvement.

So is Tikka providing quality on their triggers out of the box or does a fellow have to tinker a bit ?

Thanks

the tikka is better than a rem or vangaurd out of the box. pull is adjustable with an allen key. i haven't had a t3 that needed a smith to tune yet. the accu triggers are pretty good as is. i prefer a well tuned rem trigger but for out of the box the t3 has most beat.

x2!!

Tikka use Sako type triggers, which are among the best ones you can find on a commercial action worldwide. It can be safely set to a very low poundage with a little training. Can't go wrong with it.

Son-in-law's T3 out of the box trigger was as fine as any good gunsmith could possibly set it. Zero creep, broke like glass at about 3 lbs, which is perfect for a hunting rifle.

First rifle I've seen that didn't need adjustment right from the get-go.

Tikka triggers are fine right out of the box. You can do tune it yourself to a lighter pull. I had a 'smith do mine when he was lapping my rings and it breaks very cleanly.

i have 2 Tikka T3's, 2 Remingtons and one weatherby. The weatherby is by far the worst trigger of the bunch. it has lots of side to side motion and a little gritty. With some work it is not to bad. The Remington x-mark pro trigger I had my gunsmith tune up, and it is now very nice. The T'3 and my Sako A7 are all very very nice triggers, user adjustable and break very smooth and light.

I have my Tikka T3 Roughteck 6.5 PRC set at 2.5lbs exactly. It's perfect, no creep , no over-travel, and I can make first round, center of mass hits all the way out to 650yds no problem. It's almost as good as my Carl Gustaf 1900.
