Tikka vs winchester 70

This isn't quite right, kind of comparing a classic and a budget import, but then again I'm no fan of Tikka. The M70's a rifle you'll be proud to own in 20 years, lets just put it that way. Just read up on the Tikka mod threads; new bolt handles, new bottom metal, looking for new mags, looking to replace the stock...

They are, however, accurate. So is the new M70 though too- much more accurate than most shooters can be.

I use a M-70 7MRM that was bought new, sighted in, and sat in the safe for four years. Then, last fall I figured it was time...! So last year I plugged one bull moose and two white tail deer. I find myself liking it more and more. I've always liked the tang safety on the brownings, but I'm now getting used to the 3 way M-70 safety. I still like a blued barrel and wood stock. If I did a Tikka for hunting it would be a hunter.

The Model 70 Extreme Weather blows the doors off anything Tikka has ever made.It is just as accurate and far better made,it's not even close.Tikkas are accurate out of the box,so are Savages but to me they are both entry level big game rifles.Of course I don't like clips or plastic in my own hunting rifles.... Mur

I know 2 young hunters who use "El-Cheapo" Tikka T3, one in 7 Rem Mag and the other got a 270 WSM and both of these rifles really shoot!
The T3 embody everything that is wrong about modern firearms manufacturing techniques but also everything that is right about modern firearm engineering.

The quality of Tikka materials is second to none.
Personnaly, I bought Remington 700 CDL SF 270WSM but I doubt that it can match the T3 level of performance.
I've never met a disappointed T3 owner or seen a T3 that didn't shoot well.

The new Win Extreme sure blows the doors off the T3.

If I was interested in a new S/S hunting rifle right now, I'd look first at the M70 Extreme. I wouldn't even give the T3 a passing glance.

The Tika is a well engineered, accurate rifle. With the owners I've personally met or hunted with they acknowledge that the Tika shoots well and does what it is supposed to and I am left with the impression that it will work for them until they get what they really want.

The Winchester Model 70 Extreme Weather is well made, well engineered, accurate rifle that won't leave you feeling that way.

Wrong...I've never seen a out of the box Sav or Win shoot with a T-3.

LeBarons has been sold out of T-3s at that sale price for a long time!
