I own a Tikka T3 Varmint SS in .223 and I am loving it. I can easily get 5 shots groupings under 1MOA. I want to use it for gopher hunting and coyote hunting, I was wondering if first of all would it be possible to get a muzzle break on it and if i could what would be a good muzzle break to use and where could I get it installed? Secondly I want to put a new stock on it, once again ( I only ask if its possible because from what I hear Tikkas are not easy rifles to customize) can I get a different stock for it and what would be the best stock, I like the MacMillan A5 but would it be too heavy to use for varmint hunting, I need to be able to carry the gun in the field...Thanks in advance for any info:)

Well not being rude at all just trying to understand so bare with me.

Why would you put a muzle BRAKE on a 223, and second off Tikkas are one of the hardest guns wo customize, there just is not alot of after market parts for them, and what there is itès very expensive.

There are companies making stocks, I am not sure if most companies do however.

Now to answer your question, yes you can install a muzzle BRAKE if desired.
There are more kinds than I know of lots and lots of them, you will need a smith to thread it for you and align it properly. I have paid 150-350 for them avg.

A Muzzle Brake will only be harder on your ears, when hunting.

But each is to our own go for it if you like it.

I was just wondering if a muzzle brake would help keep me on target easier so it would be easier to see if I hit my target or not but it really is not needed, just a lil extra for fun and it looks kinda cool too:p I suppose the whole new stock thing may just not happen, I should probably just get a stevens 200 or a remington 700 for customizing...lol either way my next rifle is going to a .308 so I guess that would justify the muzzle brake lol thanks for the info though:)

lol now that I think of it...it may be the fact that I have a crappy bipod that has fallen apart once before lol...hahah I think I will just get a new bipod and see if that makes it better? I think I mainly wanted the muzzle brake for "tacti-cool" look hahah:p

If you want a wicked cool brake take a look at the Vaporizer from straightshotgunsmithing.com

Robertson Composites was working on a stock for the T3 platform. I haven't seen one yet in person so I don't know if they ever got past the prototype stage. Maybe drop them a line and see where things stand with it. h ttp://www.robertsoncomposites.com/

We have a tikka drop in inlet finished for the Robertson Tactical stock *aka Tic Tac :p *. The website is outdated and I hope create a digital library of stocks at some point for easy online viewing. Just need to find a good website to upload images, preferably something that doesn't require registration to one time visitors.

send the barrell to the gunsmith and get him to thread a TRG 42 muzzle break on it. i have a .222 t3 varmint with the trg muzzle break it looks sick. the trg muzzle break fits t3 taticle so it fits the varmint no prob.
