CZ 550's are modernized Mausers with steel shrouds and vent gas the same way. Nothing has changed there. One hole in the left side of bolt in closed position, another in the right side of the front receiver. Gases deflect out the left side of bolt into the raceway then escape from a slotted opening in the top of the raceway before the rear bridge. The large steel shroud prevents any gas or particles getting past it after that. They also have two solid front locking lugs as the ejector slot is not cut into the left lug like older Mausers, but slotted at the 5 O'clock or so position away from the lugs. The ejector is attached on the bottom of the action rather than the left side. IMO, that should make the CZ 550 bolt stronger and it also has the third lug in the rear.
I've never studied a Cooper yet.
I'm no engineer, but isn't the plastic shroud on the Tikkas a safety concern? How many more times must the shroud break off and hit the shooters face for a simple primer pierce? I guess I won't be considering a T3 for a serious target action after all.
