Hi CGNr's

Time to transistion from the .22 Buckmarks to a 9mm, deliberating between 3 for wife's & mine use at the range. Will be well maintained and a keeper. Your thoughts on... differences to be aware of...

Cheers

PS did have a look at the Glocks & M&Ps, steel is real (personal preference).

CZ or a Glock 17.

Not sure how easy it is for parts on the Beretta or CZ, but getting a glock fixed is easy. Guns break. Fact of life.

Are you ex military or police?

cgn member wheaty just posted a belgium browning hi-power for sale
he is asking $575, very reasonable for what appears to be mint shape, belgium bluing and quality, and adj. sights

may be what you are looking for as it is steel. and is a browning to go with your existing browning buckmark, the grip size is quite user friendly

the hi-power is a terrific gun, happy shopping!

HK P2000. The grip is excellent: your wife should be able to shoot it like a pro...

You'll love it too.

Sig 229. Slightly smaller grip than the 226 and very accurate. You get Sig quality and parts are easy to get, even in Canada. Wolverine just announced lower prices for 2008 and they are selling "parts kits" now.

The frame on the Stock II is large, but it is machined to accept the magazines for smaller framed guns. Same frame as the Limited Custom, and the Stock is absolutely a smaller gun in the hand than the II is.

That's my grokking of it anyway.

I have yet to find one I really don't like. I have a M&P, Browning Hi-Power and a Glock and I just ordered a Beretta 92FS Brigadier Inox so I guess the only one I can't comment on is the CZ but I am liking the looks of the Shadows so I might be in the group soon enough too.

Thank for the input.

Johnkwok, I like the Browning HP as well which is why the CZ is on the list as I suspect that a HP was disassembled on the bench when the 75 was designed.

Soli, I am the one that needs help shooting like a pro, not her.

Shack, you need three more to have one for every day of the week.

Koalorka, better cause... (not trying to stir something up just curious what the one reason would be - build quality, sights, accuracy, maintenance...).

Cheers

ahhh...that explains it...I thought it was funny that the grips can fit either, but mags for LC won't fit Stock2

If i had to buy a gun for my girlfriend i would go for a Glock 19 with a 106mm barrel from Questar... Yes i'm sold:D

I agree with all the SIG posters 229 / 226

I dont have one yet, but its my next gun... they feel great.
