No brainer : HK USP

When I bought my first (and only handgun yet!) I wanted a 9mm and the best there was. I ended up with the USP and I'm glad I did.

I just bought my first handgun, smith and wesson M&P 9mm and I love it.
and they have a 50$ rebate along with two more mags.
after everything said and done I got a new gun and four mags for 620-630$

BHP, CZ or 1911................. all get my vote.

Glock, I prefer the Model 22 .40 cal

Beretta, no longer my cup of tea.

Sig, I'm too cheap to buy one....

S&W M&P [see Glock above].

Anything else.... just doesn't grab me. :D

The best thing to do is try some different guns. I am very happy with my Grand Power K100 Target. The rotating barrel lockup eliminates a lot of looseness that the tipping barrel actions often have and provides superior accuracy.

I would say try to pick a few up, and see how they feel in your hand first. I myself started out with a Glock, and have since picked up the CZ SP-01 Shadow. I like the Glock, but Love the Shadow. I find the Glock to be very dependable, and very easy for anyone to use, but the CZ just feels great in my hand, and has the "steel feel"! The CZ would be a great gun to start with, and the price is right......You DO like my avatar......RIGHT?! :D Cheers!

Do like the Sig & HK idea, just difficult to find one <1,000. Already a little creep - start with 75B, then to 92F, then SP01 or Inox (just 100 more, just 150 more...), at some point do have to decide on value/price point.

What looks most likely now is:
1. Browning HP at the LGS, is also one on the EE.
2. if not Browning then SP01 on the EE
3. if not Browning / SP01 on EE then new 92F.

Thanks for the suggestions.
