Time for a Battle Rifle

Some of the aluminum (I cut my hand, so I call them cheese graters) stocks can be heavy for mirror kommando wimps like me. They sure look cool though!

Buy what works for you and your budget! :)

the marstar AKM is a quality stock. Have had the pleasure of doing a few installs to these recently and one on the bench right now. compared to the other aluminum stocks, the quality is there and the price if you can find one is lower. i think they were 599 or 699.00 when marstar had them. Not sure if they have them...... if not it would be nice to see more of these availlable.

Hi CGNers! Im looking to put together a 7.62x51 battle rifle. I was looking at the Norc 305's on Marstar. I like to investigate a weapon befor I invest. I havnt been able to find any reviews for the 305's using the search menu. Anyways i was hoping that I could get some feedback on the weapons performance. I understand she isnt gonna stack up to an american m14, but i dont have the cash to spare currently for somthing like a Springfield M1A1, or the Kel Tec RFB. Pictures would really float my boat too. Thnx

To get back to your original question.......hehe:D

I'd recommend you buy the newest Norc M305 you can get your hands on, buy a couple of spare magazines (SFRC has 'em right now, as does Marstar and other board sponsors), buy some 150 gr ammo, and shoot it!!!

I use one for a hunting rifle and it will shoot 1.5 MOA with a 3x9 scope (if I do my part :p)and Remington Express Core-Lokt 150 gr ammo. This is bone stock with the exception of the scope and mount.

I'm sending to M14Doctor (as soon as I get the new reg cert, I lost the old one hunting last year) for some tweaking to improve the accuracy (just 'cause I can, NOT because I need to).

Also, attending one of Hungry's clinics if he's in your area is a great idea. He's got lots of tips and tricks he'll demonstrate to make your M305 a better rifle.

As Hungry would say, "Don't just buy one, buy two...or you #### will fall off".

The Norc 305 are great weapons/rifles/firearms and in a pinch clubs.

Thanks for the great advice. Much appreciated :)

Norinco 306/M14 is a great deal. I think there is one already on the EE in Walnut, tuned, ready to go. Marstar has them up top as well. Try and make Hungry's clinic Feb 5 if your anywhere near London.

Just applied to join the EE. I will check this wea...I mean firearm out. I would really like the marstar aluminum stock for it. It looks tacticool. Does anyone know why marstar doesnt have anymore of them? Have they just recently run out of these stocks? Supply not meeting the demand? Maybe I will find one in the EE who knows. Also, can you get mil-spec surplus 7.62x51? I have looked but couldnt find any.

Lot's of new Poly 305s avaliable for around $429.00-$449.00 plus tax and shipping i believe at various supporting dealers with the links at the top of the page.:)

And on the weapon thing, if you have been trained as a Soldier, it's hard not to call it anything else. I still have to correct myself and say "Firearm", or at least Rifle everytime i type or speak.

Anyone here(Army) remember getting bashed if we called our weapon/rifle a "Gun" and had to walk around with our hand between our legs holding our FN in the other saying,"This is my Rifle, this is my gun, this is for killing, this is for fun.

Training is hard to break, and i overlook the mistake. It's only terminology:canadaFlag:

P.S Enjoy the Nork M-14!!:agree:

i seem to remember john at marstar saying the manufacturer for the AKM chassis was no more, but i hear a lot of stuff and could be confused. haven't seem them new in stock for a long time now..... not sure why they are still showcased on the marstar site.
The Sage EBR is the real deal and can be purchased for a little bit more $$ from dealers such as Del Selins here on CGN.
as for 7.62 x 51 ...... SFRC, frontier, henry nychlero (sorry if i spelled that wrong henry hehehe) all here on the board.... there seems to be some ammo around where as 4 months ago and prior we were in major droughtsville for x51 ammo..... buy it while you can ;)

Yep. I'll never forget the first time someone called their rifle a "Gun"!!

I had one helluva time keeping a straight face while the recruit was marching around saying that!!!:D

The only difference was that "fighting" was substituted for "killing".:p
