Ive grown tired of hunting:)I would like to seriously get into competitive shooting of some sort.F-Class sounds intresting but Im haveing trouble finding the rules and regs.I have a Remington VLS in 223 topped with a 6.5-20x50 VX111.What could I do with this rilfe.Thanks.Go easy Im new to this;)

BCRA, DCRA have all the rules.

Basics - safe trigger, 80gr max, 18lbs and under including anything attached to the rifle. Rear bag is fine as long as it is not mechanically adjustable. Pedestal front rest should be ok but this rule is in flux (3" wide forend). Bipod for sure ranging from Harris to Remple skipods. Any scope and you definitely need to be able to finger adjust (target turrents). You are shooting prone at various distances. Scoring ring is usually 1/2 min X ring, 1 min 10/5 ring, getting bigger from there.

Just load up some 75gr Amax or Bergers if the twist is fast enough (9twist) and come on out. There are matches in Mission, several at Chilliwack, Kamloops.

All have a F(F) division specifically for 308's and 223's. You might need a bipod if they don't let you use a pedestal rest. Quality rear bag and fly at it.

Unfortunately, you're asking the question after the wrap-up of the competitive shooting season. It will get under way in April very likely. bcrifle.org will publish the list of the events early in the new year or so.

Please remember me and touch base with me again in the new year. The list of events is often obscure and does not differentiate which matches are F-Class. The best thing to do frankly is to come out and try it! As Jerry says, a scope a front rest or bipod and a rear rest. Mission has a Sporter class in their F-class matches which means you are competing against other factory guns instead of trying to run with the custom guns.

I would be glad to hook up with you and talk about what to expect and to help you out in any way I can.

Regards,

Ian
