Hello, all!
Spring is in the air, and that means it is time for a new toy! Just thought I would throw out a thread for some opinions. Time for another 9mm, as my M&P is lonely as the only 9 I own. HK P2000, or Gen 4 Glock 19? Lemme know what you guys think!

I'm a fan of the 9mm cartridge. I have one built on a Colt frame, but I think I'm a heckler by nature.

Consider all-steel. Either this, or its P7 predecessor...pricey, yes, but very competent and fun pistols to shoot.

I'm having the same dilemma. I have a G17 and I'm getting a little bored of it. I picked up a Colt Woodsman about a month ago and was very impressed with it. Made me think I should find something quality and all metal. Thinking about a High Power, CZ (75, shadow etc.), STI Spartan, Sig or ??? Just something different with a little more character.

Any suggestions?

Hmmm...I am in the same boat brother! I've got a CZ 75B which was 100% trouble free and thus I learn almost next to nothing about the gun because no need to do anything to improve except change a few spring which I thing not really need to do that. I still have a G17 and a 686 which as you say start getting a little bored. I am now looking for samething I can learn to fool around and do some modifcation. Looks like I will jump to the 1911 pool. I still want a 75B SA and a 92FS inox but add 1911 to the stable seems to be a must.

I got bit by the new spring gun bug about a month ago and picked up a HK-P30L and i looove it,i've got big hands and it is probably the best feeling pistol in my collection.Seriosly considered the Sig,but i'm a HK fan. That being said Sig's quality is unbelievable and would also be a great choice, and as spoonman said you gotta have a pistol cal. carbine too,Mine's a Carbon 15 w/9.5" barrel, too much fun

I got bit by the new 9 bug to and wanted a 1911 so on a whim I ordered a Norc NP28 to go with my G17. Still waiting for it but I have read a lot of good things about it and can't wait to get it.

I would stay away from more polymer framed pistols for your next choice, a Glock seems a little redundant because you already have a polymer framed combat pistol. I would say the M&P9 is nearly on par with the Glock Model 17 and the Model 19 really isn't a big change, just a smaller grip. If you want something smaller in 9mm as opposed to getting an HKP2000, or a PX4 try a commander length 1911 in 9mm. Para Ordnance makes a great one.

Why not go with a big heavy tactical pistol/combat pistol or something more intended for competitive shooting? Sig 226 is my current favourite as you can get a combat pistol all tarted up with competitive accessories stock from the factory (fibre optic or adjustable combat night sights), short reset trigger, etc.

Other alternatives I would consider would be a Beretta 92, Baby Eagle, CZ 75 (you mentioned SP01, definitely a good option, I have one of these to but I prefer my P226 Platinum).

Goodluck, let us know what you get!!!
Tim.

Oh man, I have such a hard on for a P7 right now. It seems to me, with the PSP being almost half the price of the M8, I would go that route. A little bit of holster wear and refurb marks dont bother me.

For the OP, these threads have some info on the differences between the p7 series if that interests you. Its rather hard to search for HK or p7 stuff. mainly cause you cant search for words that small on the search application. And for some reason it doesnt like H&K either:confused:

Theres alot of guys that will tell you that "you cant go wrong" with a nork or tupperware what have you, but buying an HK is an incident when "you done right". If that doesn't interest you I would look at an STI Ranger II, CZ shadow, or ol faithful Browning Hi-power.

Another vote for the P226! My favorite! It would be the firearm I would carry around with me everywhere I went if we were allowed to do so.

If your looking for another 9mm, I would look at Ruger SR9, Beretta 92, or the Springfield XDM.
