Just a general question ………..itching for a new pistol ( just because ) and leaning towards a CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow 9mm based on what I’ve read and it’s not overly expensive compared to the Shadow 2. I have a $200.00 credit at Bullseye in London and figured I could use it towards a new purchase. It would only be used for target practise and the price I could afford right now. If I wait and save for the Shadow 2 it might be too late to acquire ,if the Liberal Turd has his way!! What is the opinion of most who have owned or used the SP-01?

Shadow owner here - and I'm not selling it. Just used it at the IPSC BC Provincials and it works like a charm. You're about to see a very high approval rate for the Shadow.

My general thoughts are for fun target practice, IPSC and IDPA, the Shadow is a fantastic choice.

If you catch the IPSC bug, the Shadow 2 is a better choice. It was built for IPSC (and is too heavy for IDPA atm).

fwiw, please know that you can change the grip panels on the original Shadow. Many people find the original rubber grip panels to be too wide for them. Choose the proper grip panels to fit your hands, change the mainspring to 13lbs, and you'll be smiling for a very long time.

That's awesome ...good to know and thanks for the info.

Got an SP-01 and it shoots great! Take down is not the easiest/fastest but not an issue. Very accurate pistol for target shooting.

I really like the Shadow 01. Never tried the newer ones. It is a heavy all steel gun and I like that. I have just bought a Beretta 92, and a Sig P210(once to the range only) and I think the Shadow is the best of that bunch. It just speaks to me.

I really like my Shadow 1. Great gun and most everyone I know that has tried one, now owns one (or at least wants one, LOL).

Good to see most agree because the impulsive side of me ordered one yesterday while I was still at work. Now let the waiting game begin. Hope the transfer is a quick as my last couple purchases.

I bought a shadow as one of my first three pistols a few years back. Haven't regretted it at all.

I just punch holes in paper targets at my local range with it, but it does a better job if it than I do.

You're in for enjoyable times.

Have both, love both. Shoot the S2 far more often though, it is my IPSC gun

The pistol is the cheapest part in the long run - it’s the ammo that gets expensive.

If you can afford a shadow now - buy it. And start saving your pennies for an optics ready S2

Edit: saw you purchased - congrats!

I was tempted to go with the optics ready S2 but the extra funds are needed elsewhere unfortunately. Oh well, that gives me a good reason I guess to start saving for the S2 right.

Just received the SP01 Shadow in the mail yesterday. I have to say I really like the look and feel of this thing already without even firing it. Unfortunately now I will have to wait for the registration papers to come before I can take it to the range.... the waiting is the part I really hate. Just out of curiosity I've been watching some YouTube videos regarding upgrades to this model and most mention the main and recoil spring. Obviously I'm not concerned at this point with any mods without even having firing it, but are changing out these springs something that most owners might do, even if only used for target practice?

I picked up a Shadow 1 in a sale Bullseye had last month. My first handgun was a 75B back in 2014 and this year I’ve gone kind of crazy getting a 97B, SP-01 Phantom, the aforementioned SP-01 Shadow, SP-01 Shadowline on order, and I’ve got a Shadowmate Canadian on layaway. Also buying a pre B from a friend as well. So yeah, can’t go wrong with a CZ 75.

I just got this thing and I'm already thinking about the CZ P-10 C that I've been reading about. I need help for this addiction.

CZ 01 is nice, but I am not so sure about these cheaper striker fired CZs ...

I see them like the cheap iPhone versions - for people that can't afford the real iPhone XsMAX ;)

I don’t know anyone that has one to get an opinion. At this point I’m just researching the reviews online and YouTube. Don’t see many bad things said about them just the same.
