Im looking for a new 9mm, I got a large hand, I like pistols that have a bulky grip, nothing thin. Around the thousand dollar mark is what im willing to go to. 92A1 feels pretty good, any other suggestions guys? Nothing crappy though. I also would want it to eat any ammo I feed it wether its factory or reloads.

Thanks guys

You might have to spend a little bit more, but the Sig-Sauer P226 in 9mm is perfect for the large handed crowd [me too...].

I've got a P226 in .40S&W and I am smitten...the 9mm is exactly the same size. If you look around you may find one on the EE for something under your $k price range. Even new, I doubt you'll find anything of better quality for the price.

Edit -- Just saw this on EE...I'd call it a great deal. http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?870205-Sig-p226-amp-22-sig-conversion-kit-only-1049-00-crazy-deal!!!

I have an all steel IWI Jericho 941 in a .45 acp and I love it. I know you can get them in a 9mm for around $599. Its one of the less expensive guns I own but I would put it in my top 3 to shoot for sure. I may even buy one in a 9mm. It is well built and will eat anything you feed it. Good deal for what you get. Also, if you like the Bretta you should take a look at the MKEK Girsan Yavuz 16. It is an exact copy of a Bretta 92 for half the price with a very good reputation for being a well built firearm. Just a thought

I have a medium large hand. The M&P 40 with the medium backstrap feels perfect.

The advantage of the adjustable grip is that you can make it fit. And so can your kid/wife...

I have the standard M&P. The pro would have been better. With an Apex kit the trigger is perfect.

Yeah if your in for a 226, I'd call you a blind fool for not going that route. I wish it was available when I bought mine.

Jericho 941 in 9mm is hands down one of the better ones i have shot under a grand, i bought the m&p 9mm range kit and sold it only after 90 rounds shot thru it, i didnt care for it

I think you are already on the right track with the 92A1. The grip on a Beretta is bigger than a Sig in case you didn't know. I have both. You can't go wrong with either.

I'd go with the Sig myself, but then again I love that gun. If you can, go with the older style handgrips. The E2 ones are slimmer, but I'd suggest gripping a bunch and figure it out from there.
