I have played with rifles for decades and have only been shooting ( at the hobby level ) long distances the last ten years. I've gone through the typical savage, rem and weatherby rifles and am thinking now may be time to invest in a high end piece of steel.
Options I've researched
1) Cooper
2) Mcmillan
3) A full custom
etc..
I am very experienced and set up well for reloading but as far as other aspects of tinkering with the rifle not so much. A Mcmillan with good optics prices out to near the $10K mark. From your expert opinions can a rifle of similar quality be purchased or custom built for less ?
Retirement is coming and I'd love to have a gun that I can shoot 1/2 MOA all day long at the range and take it on a hunting trip now and then. I'd like it in a magnum round like a 7mm RM class and not a .308 . As for whether or not I can shoot that well all day is another issue
Thank you for any advice
