Time for nightforce warranty

My precision benchrest 12-42 had a slight noise inside like a loose screw floating around inside so I removed the sun shade to see if I could see anything and to my surprise it's a large ring shaped piece floating around inside. I took it to a local dealer to ship off for warranty work yesterday. I've always heard good things about nightforce warranty so here's hoping because I would imagine it scratched things up inside.

I've heard nothing but good things, I'm sure they will take care of it. I don't think they have a warranty center in Canada so you might have to wait a bit for it to get back from the US.

Lol, actually not that big of a deal it's gone for warranty my vortex scopes are fine. I'll miss my long range gun until it gets back through. There's way more vortex scopes out there than nightforce, I'd bet warranty work percentages aren't that different?

Your the first one I've ever heard of that has to send a NF scope for warranty, since I signed on here.
It must be a joke that as many NF have been sent as vortex. Vortex is a crap shoot that you get a good one. But that is your opinion and I have mine.

That's good to hear, hopefully the wait isn't too long. It's by far the best scope I have, I like it so much I also have the 8-32 benchrest model now.

You don't hear about it because guys don't generally admit their expensive scope has crapped out. Lots of Nightforce warranty horror stories out there. You have to prove you bought it off a certified dealer for the warranty. Many Nightforce scopes came across the border after being bought stateside and the warranty is not valid in Canada because it wasn't bought at a Canadian distributor. A search here will turn up a few I'm sure.

Buyer beware. It's not rocket science if u decide to buy it outside of a proper dealer.

Myself I would like to know if it failed upon an energetic cartridge. The benchrest series is technically not as robust as the regular NXS line.
This is noted in thier company info.
Myself I have just two NF scopes, one of them for ten years on a HB 308. Zero issues.
I have the Hornday print out, long range data for my handload. I always baseline my scope afterwards.
I put in the dope for 700 yards each summer and it's always right there where it should be.
Without fail.
