Time to Delete! Thanks

And seeing how Vault is awfully close to Reliable and Wanstalls I'm guessing they might see theirs first (of which I would be one...yeah baby!!!).

As soon as I get the call I'm bugging out of work and running like a mad man to the store (lest a certain appendage fall off)...a pic will definitely be going up...along with a giant grin.

Something I made for you pimps that will get one before me.

Just curious, where can you get it for $1200 in Canada...?

Or do you mean "it's a $1200 rifle in the US", which really doesn't meant sh!t to the Canadian gun market...

As a canadian firearm enthusiast I hate when other firearm enthusiast ruin it by paying dumb prices for firearms and act like the dealer bringing them in is your friend and doing you a favour. with :dancingbanana: it's a shame people are so gulible. I guess people will pay anything to feel special what a great society we live in.

come on those prices are nuts totally nuts.

you know you can get one of these for alot cheaper yourself with a little work. we do have import companys who would love your business.

Really? And how are you going to go about getting Kel-Tec to retool a firearm with a .308 chamber (at no extra cost, mind you LMFAO) if they are only distributing through one company with what I'm guessing is a distribution agreement?

Honestly, tout your #### disturbing bitterness elsewhere.

It's $1202US,do you know what are dollar is at. we are very close to par so $1206.39cdn. oh wait plus import fee"s. wait thats our cost what did the dealer pay. no matter how you justify it your getting ripped.

sorry not trying to poke fun kel tec are good cheap guns ans it is great that they are coming to canada. But dont play us for fools.

for Kel tec to re chamber a firearm would not cost to much $$$ lol thats funny.
Hey guys justify it any way you can it's your money. just saying maybe we should all start asking for a FAIR PRICE.

OK, here is my 2 cents. I generally do not like to comment on dealer's business.

However, the importer did all the leg works of negotiating and sorting out the work with CBSA and RCMP. There is also the business risk that CBSA or RCMP could hinder every single step of the process. The business is more risky than say, importing a bicycle! Everytime there is a delay, the premium rises. It is simpley the time value of money, and increasing exposure as more effort is input while risk is heightened by political climate.

From a business perspective, one will never know if this shipment is the first and the last, or there will be a second, third.....say praise to US DOS, RCMP and CBSA. All the investment made in time and administration fee could be pissed away if the supply has a high level uncertainty. Therefore, a good business will incorporate higher margin to generate higher return to accelerate the time to recoup any investment.

THe US price is much lower becasue risk is lower - they only have to take into consideration of the market. They are not exposed to the 2 extra layers of risk in exportation and importation.

Anyone can reap the benefit and get a free ride of someone else hard work and do the importation himself ,once someone figures the FRT and proper configuration. It will be up to yourself to figure it out whether it is a moral thing to do.

My thinking is that the importer take the first step and did the work, it is not unreasonable to award him a few extra bucks. When you go to the restaurant, you tip for good service.

Good point, partner. When does your shipment of $1200 RFBs arrive?

Just curious, I'm asking out of ignorance not out of contempt or an effort to start s**t.

How does it not mean anything to the Canadian gun market? $1200, and $2500 seem quite.... distant.... to say the least..... with the dollar @ par shouldn't the price be say.... at least somewhere close? I don't mean $1300 or even $1400.... but $1600, $1700, $1800 (with my ignorance of importing) seems reasonable? I mean c'mon... that's like paying $600 for a stamp and a truck ride.... I'm curious where the other $700 comes in.... packaging? Insurance? They're not being flown in on a plane special delivery are they?

Again, I have no experience with importing etc.... just trying to figure out where the $1300 price diff comes from, when I don't see other firearms with that much markup over the american prices? When the dollar is strong is usually when we see the perks of living beside the USA, not when we pay more than double for the same product.... I'm confused....

that guy is full of SH*t this gun goes for around 2 grand ( a little less in some places, a little more in others) in the states NOT 1200 dollars... look up your facts before you go throwing around random information. way to ruin a perfectly happy go lucky thread! jeeez

Oh man...did everyone forget that the MSRP in the US is actually $1880? The fact that they sell for less is most likely due to the demand and lower profit margins. It can be found online that the RFB dealer cost is about $1187 US. There may have been someone who got an RFB for $1200 but most I see down south are $1500...this rifle is in hot demand and Kel-Tec had to retool for the Cdn market. I doubt that Vault got theirs for $1187...more likely quite a bit higher due to the headaches involved. So giving them some cash seems reasonable to me. I think all the whiners are (on price) just guys who want one but can't afford to buy it therefore they trash the rest of us. Oh well...when I'm at the range having a great time with mine I'll be chuckling on the inside knowing that these whiners are still whining (and empty handed).

Edit: did I mention I can hunt with it? Non restricted baby...yeah!
