Time to Delete! Thanks

Just curious, I'm asking out of ignorance not out of contempt or an effort to start s**t.

How does it not mean anything to the Canadian gun market? $1200 and $2500 seem quite.... distant.... to say the least..... with the dollar @ par shouldn't the price be say.... at least somewhere close?

I don't mean $1300 or even $1400.... but $1600, $1700, $1800 (with my ignorance of importing) seems reasonable? I mean c'mon... that's like paying $600 for a stamp and a truck ride....

I'm curious where the other $700 comes in.... packaging? Insurance? They're not being flown in on a plane special delivery are they?

Again, I have no experience with importing etc.... just trying to figure out where the $1300 price diff comes from, when I don't see other firearms with that much markup over the american prices?

When the dollar is strong is usually when we see the perks of living beside the USA, not when we pay more than double for the same product.... I'm confused....

Your thinking is logical, but only in concerns to "regular" commodity trading. It's not like buying name-brand clothing or car parts online to save 25-50%...

These aren't available at "every retailer in the country", and the importer has legal rights to distribution & pricing (in this country) on new units.

Then there's the politics between the manufacturer/RCMP/CFC/ATF and the legal-nightmare to make the RFB legally available in Canada, which the OP spearheaded...

After all, the importer (OP) basically made these even available in our country, so a price increase to compensate is to be expected...

The 2 main principles behind marketing and/or selling any product are... Supply & demand...

* If anyone can do it cheaper, they should start a new thread advertising the fact...

** and another retailer on here has them for $2400, if it makes a difference...

:) I could be wrong though...

all of the dealers should be selling it for 2400 dollars, the price is set.

I'm guessing there is something like 25 RFB's coming in at this point so pinning 25 mags isn't going to take long...

Inspected? That would suck and definitely delay until after Xmas...but only 15? Wow...I think I might feel special (for a little while) when I get mine...

To the OP (Vault)

It's been 5 months since the export permits were approved, when can we expect to see these hit the stores?

15 for the first shipment? Seems like a pretty small batch compared to the demand that there seems to be (I know there is some silly rule with import or export that only allows so many per batch). Will there be more shipments coming soon after?

I am very interested in picking up one of these but it would be nice if there were going to be enough coming in that there is a chance to handle one in the store before putting down the cash.

Thank you for all the hard work you have done to bring the RFB to the Canadian market, I know it must have been very frustrating dealing with all the legal BS involved and it is much appreciated, I just hope that it won't take too long to fill all the pre-orders so that the rest of us will be able to see one before paying for it (I'll need to touch it before I can shut off my brain and pull out my wallet).

Thanks again

Our Kel-Tec forum area will be up very soon on our website. Our first shipment is in our warehouse as of yesterday, minus magazine parts which will be in Monday. A week in a half of hell to get it, but its here. I will elaborate in more detail next week on our forum. Keep your eye on our site.

Ok..good to know (must admit...gotta a little worried there)...thanks for the update :D

Jimbo- if you want to sell a couple, pm me.

Brordo- I'm getting mine threaded , but I'm in Edmonton. I have no experience with dlask or the other place

I should point out to you guys threading yours. If you're looking at a flash hider rather than a compensator you might want to check out the flash signature. You get a secondary flash from the ejection port at the front of the rifle. So even if you hide the barrel flash, there is still a secondary flash.

A compensator though might be just the ticket.

I'm dreamin' of a Sub-2000 holiday...;)

I am guessing Vault has now shipped the RFB's out to the dealers:

The eagle has just landed...will have these badboys transfered and out by tomorrow. They are cool!

since the website is completely gone right now I am also guessing the new Kel-Tec owners forum will be up on vaults website very soon. I wonder how many of us will end up using that forum - I think every Kel-Tec owner will already be a member of CGN, so another forum seems a bit overredundant to me.
