Time to order your boyds M14 stocks gents.

been posted a few days ago but reminders are always a good thing LOL
I don't even need one but I ordered 2 anyways ;)

Still there. Entire website is non-functional at the moment however.

Item #: RF0002

Boyds Field Design M14 Slim Gi W/O Selector Cut Walnut Unfinished

List Price: $79.00
Your Price US$79.00

This too (what's the difference? Slim?):

Item #: RF0016

M-14 Without Selector Cut Walnut Unfinished

List Price: $53.27
Your Price US$53.27

Given the fairly steep shipping costs, it make sense to buy two at that price.

Subject: m14 stock question

Hello,

I'm trying to decide between the:

1) Boyds Field Design M14 Slim Gi W/O Selector Cut Walnut Unfinished (Item #: RF0002)
2) M-14 Without Selector Cut Walnut Unfinished (Item #: RF0016)

To my untrained eye they look identical. Could you please explain the difference between these two items?

Thank you,

I never felt so dumb.

Anyone in SWO East / GTA West want to bulk order and meet up to save on shipping?

??? I wish I knew

I guess I'll order both (when the site lets me). Pick the one I want, and put the other on the EE for those that missed the sale.

On the plus side, the thick stock should be easy to bed.

Since these are discontinued, that's what I'd do.

At one time there was an even "fatter" "National Match" stock and very nice laminated pepper and nutmeg. They seem to be forever gone (but I got mine).

how are you guys getting them shipped... they want a $57 shipping charge on a $53 stock ...I don't think so

shipping was:
$57 for one
$68 for two (slim and regular)
and $90+ for two of the same???
I don't understand their calcs - hence why I ordered one of each. Combined shipping brought total per unit cost down, I get to pick the one I want, and then I get to increase my trader rating selling off the other. $200 US total. IMHO the exchange rate is worse than shipping.

I ordered the $57 unfinished one (to replace the stock the previous owner completely f@cked up), and a thumbhole stock for one of my .22s... $68 S&H.

$220US all in for a couple of high quality stocks I can live with.

How long does it take them to get shipping out, generally?

I got my 2 unfinished M1A stocks sent USPS. No way I'll use UPS or Fedex LOL
All in with exchange rate and such it's still so fricken cheap, for a good quality new walnut M14/M1A stock, that I can fit and stain at my liesure.... it's just silly.

oh, they are pretty. So pretty I'm debating about buying a shortie norc to put the spare stock in. What wise man said "don't buy one, buy two"?
Dinged for another $32 for customs though
I'll do a comparison of the slim vs regular when I have the time. tbh at first glance they are very similar, the biggest difference in feel being on the grip.
Also think we need to start a "bedding and finishing your boyds stock" thread. Thanks TonyBen for the vids. I got truoil for the finish - now to source devcon/marinetex...
