Hey, GOT JUICE is right! We grind fresh, West coast roast every morning and put it through a regular coffee maker. Have tried a pile of other coffees the same way and cannot find anything that comes close. Even tried a few overated Starbucks beans and same thing. Starbucks is great if you enjoy buying marketing, a cup with your name on it filled with mediocre coffee. Notice lots of staff showing up at work with their names' on their starbucks. It's smart marketing appeal. Just not for someone as jaded as I am.
 
McD's ftw but I buy it at the grocery store and make it at home. Still doesn't compare to the beans I brought back from Cuba though...

Dunkin Donuts is pretty tough to take when I'm in the states, thanks to Baileys it can be made to be drinkable....:)
 
I can't see Subway selling much coffee in a day, chances are really good you will get an old pot thats a few hours old.
 
Starbucks gross? Second cup and starbucks have my vote for quality. But I like a good, spoon stands up strong kind of coffee. That said, their prices are ridiculous. 4 dollars + for a cup of coffee?? right, I'll pass. Now McDonalds is my go to if I don't have my own Tassimo/Keurig/French press brew in hand and feel like a coffee, but Timmy's will do in a pinch. Nowhere near as good as it was about 15 years ago, but there was a 5+ year stint where it was REALLY bad. I think it has gotten a bit better, at least the dark roast has. But man, those cups/lids...That HAS to be one of their most common complaints. You literally have to drink 1/4 of it before moving the vehicle for fear of spilling all over the place.

It's worse than that they are now using a coffee machine similar to the old vending style ones they don't even brew it. That isn't saying Subways is suprisingly good, more of how far Tim Hortons has fallen.

Starbucks venti is now 2.99 not $4 (their short is like a fraction of that). Now if you go for that skinny mocha-frapa-chino crap then yeah.

Reasoning behind their prices is take a look at the benefits packages their employees have. Would wish they could figure out how to get around the small leak where the cup lip merges with itself and their lids.

The funny thing is there's a local coffee place called Bridgehead that is big into the ethical sourcing but from what I have heard they treat their employees like a third world refugees dog

Some of the Walmarts in the States have instore Subway instead of MacDonalds. What a disappointment when all you want is a coffee.
 
McD's - Pros over timmy's

1) Lid is much better and is easier to use.

2) Coffee tastes better (unlike Timmy's which tasted like coffee boiled in a left over hunt camp coffee tin from 78' with dried tomato paste on the bottom).

3) Save your cup stickers for a free coffee.

4) Faster and less likely to screw up my Java... errrr

5) My order comes all together...
 
Excuse me while I start up my wizard-hipster jazz hands... Unless you find that offensive, in which case I'll make a formal apology that might tight-panted brethren will snap their fingers at. Naturally, I am against all forms of coffee. Why, you ask? I find it offensive. Why, you ask? Why do YOU ask so many questions you gun-loving fascist! That being said, I love Starbucks. Don't ask me why I prefer it, I will become triggered.

Yes and they already have some nice pastries, McDonald's food is not great, but, some of their muffins are not terrible, content wise, yes they have a lot of fat, but, I see a gaggle of old fixed income folks every morning, getting their coffee and muffin. ( bran likely) for $2 plus the (Trudeau penance) for many it might be all they can afford for an eat out breakfast and has enough carbs etc to keep them going for a good while, plus refills for free and they can socialize with all the other elders! I don't know how much a coffee and muffin is at Tims but it has to be close to $3. Maybe more!

Yeah I like them too, there used to be one close to where I worked, across the street from a Timmy's. The lineup at Timmy's was 10 minutes, the CS drive through was usually empty or maybe one car. Plus better coffee. The Timmy's obsession is just very successful marketing is all I can figure, people are lemmings.
 
A long time ago, about 33 years ago I was in Grande Prairie, Alberta. I was talking to a local First Nation and he told me he lived in Red Deer, Alberta for a year. As I’ve never been to Red Deer I asked him what it was like. He stated; “It’s so big it’s got TWO McDonalds”. I always thought that was a damn good way to describe a place!

Haha, I was offered relocation for work up in Fort St John and their sales pitch to me was that they had two Tim Horton's.

Best coffee i have ever tasted bar none. And when it goes on sale for 11.99/tin (limit 4) I stock up for a years supply by making separate trips :). Even Lavazza or Medalia d’oro don’t come close to how good this coffee is.

Yeah, sometimes i get things right. Which reminds me, time to make another cup!
