A few years ago my friends ridiculed me for spending $5K on a Miele built in coffee maker. The counter on the machine shows 23,000 coffees so far so guess who's laughing now :)
Best high ticket item I ever bought!

Yup got a Rancilio Epoca and Mazzer grinder. Pays for itself and really happy with the cappuccinos and espressos.

As much as I enjoy a nice smooth cup of coffee, I'm no snob/connoisseur. I'm pretty happy these days with a med roast bean that I like, Med ground with a basic grinder and a large bodum.
Stove top espresso is nice as well, specially camping.
AeroPress works well for an espresso shot but a bit more work then the bodum

Tim Hortons - 3/10
McDonalds - 6/10 (but by the end of the week 4/10)

Coffee at Home - Ceramic Hand Grinder + French press + 100% Kona Beans + 93oC water + 4 minutes = 10/10 coffee

I remember about 30 years ago, everything at Tim Hortons was made fresh in the back. Banana Cream Pies were amazing. Now everything is crap there, their breakfast is disgusting.

Yeah they went to #### when they went to factory produced food. Last year the Toronto Star did an expose of one of these factories after a worker died. Yeah it was one step up from sweatshop

Don't use an electric drip coffee maker, the water temperature does not get up into the correct range, which is absolutely crucial in brewing good coffee.

Not true. Even the cheapest pot spews steam and boiling water over your beans in the basket. $20 coffee maker will make as good a cup as a pour over. It does EXACTLY the same thing.

Cool to hear most of you guys feel the same way about Tim Hortons food.

I just thought it was me getting closer to 40, and things that used to be good, start tasting like garbage. Haha, I guess it was their food quality that took a nosedive.

Yes, it sure did go downhill, far and fast.

I also prefer my own coffee. A local roaster does a great job for beans.

At work I use a 6 cup Melita pour over. Saved my life in many a long days of work. At home we use a programmable Cuisinart machine. Saved my marriage.

Bring your wife coffee in bed, the rewards are worthwhile XD

I prefer McD's for coffee. However there are far more Tim's around my area so I find myself at Tim's more often simply because of convenience.

I do like Starbucks venti mochas as a treat but they are loaded with carbs.
Timmies is a mainstay but MacDs is a stronger tasting coffee, but the service and wait is generally too long.

Not its not you.

Coffee taste bad and food isnt good even when they manage to get your order right. Tim's on base looks like there is always 20 people behind the counter but orders still take forever. I prefer to drive 6km that walk to TH

Tim Hortons... too many sulfites in the eggs.... in a bucket no less... fml.... every time I eat there, freckles are the order of the day. NO THANKS!

Expensive, Incorrect, Lukewarm, Tastes like cardboard.

For 4.00 more, I get a REAL breakfast and REAL coffee at Dennys. Lumberjack Slam !!!!!
