Has anyone ever replaced the factory accutrigger in a savage with a timney? i have 2 savage model 10's one with a trigger that i would like to be a little lighter, the other is good and light at its lowest setting but it is starting locking up if the bolt is closed quickly. not sure which one id like to replace with the timney yet but wanted to see if anyone is using one, how they like it, the lowest safe pull weight?

I used Rifle Basix in both my Savages with great results.

I sent an email to Rifle Basix when the spring broke ( 10k rounds ) and they sent me 5 for free.

Stand up Company

Was going to go with the rifle basix but got a deal on a second hand timney so thought it was worth a try, if it doesn't meet my requirements ill get a rifle basix.

Don`t own any savages, but I replaced the trigger in a Sako A1 Varmint .222Rem. with a Timney several years ago. It measures 2lb. at lowest setting, zero creep & over-travel and breaks super crisp, best $$ I ever spent. Have shot thousands of rounds with it ( gopher hunting) and have never adjusted it since being installed.Factory trigger wasn`t bad at all but the Timney is nicer.

I put a Timney in my Savage M11 and even though I am not very handy with such things, I was able to make it happen. Full disclosure, I installed it and then realized the geometry of the tang safety and how it interacted with the trigger. That led to uninstalling it and then doing it correctly....very happy with the results. Good luck GcG166

I put a Timney in a model 10 tr. it immediately solved all the issues I was having. It took about 10 minutes. I was dealing with Gerry at Mystic Precision. The Timney was 17 dollars more than the rifle basix so I went with Timney because of their reputation. Never looked back
