Just had the smith put a Timney in my 700. The trigger itself is great, but the bolt release is the tightest I have ever encountered. When pushed in to release the bolt, the button remains pushed in and must be pulled back down to keep the bolt from sliding out.

Anyone els ever see this on a 700?

Make sure your stock isnt rubbing on the side of the bolt release. I had it happen to me in a HS stock once - 10 secs with a little file and it was fine.

Me too. I can't be bothered to screw with them. They are just tight. I would assume the width if the trigger housing is a couple thou bigger. Really no big deal but annoying.

All you need to do if it's not rubbing on the stock is loosen the bolt that holds the bolt release to the trigger body.

Pull the barreled action from the stock, look at it on the left side of the trigger, and you'll see a bolt that you would need to remove if you wanted to remove the bolt release piece from the trigger. check how tight that bolt is that holds the bolt release piece to the trigger. five bucks says it is too tight. loosen it a quarter turn (or remove it, put a little blue loctite on it, and put it back on so it's able to move nice and freely).
