I haven't heard/ready anything, but since the status is likely restricted, and with Canada being a relatively small market, I wouldn't imagine it would be a big seller with the M&P already here. Could be wrong though. Wouldn't be the first time.
Apparently paintball guns and one of a very small number of 22 AR's that are actually 22 AR's, not ust ARish 22's. Weight is right, triggers are interchangeable, grips and stocks too. They also have the neatest magazine set up.
The company that makes paintball guns is TIPPMANN (with 2 N's) and before they got into the paintball business (back in the late 80's or early 90's), they made industrial sewing machines. As far as I know they spun off the sewing machine business and it is still an ongoing concern somewhere out there....
I don't think this is the same company and I don't recall ever hearing that Tippmann made any real firearms... but then again, I had a paintball business for a few years a long time ago, but I don't know everything so who knows...
EDITED TO ADD:
well what do ya know! Both companies seem to be in Fort Wayne Indiana, so I guess they are the same!
Same outfit - I'm the one who missed the second "n". Interestingly, the lower won't take an AR upper, and the mag well is slightly too tight for AR mags, which kind of makes you wonder - if it was a centre fire, it probably wouldn't be restricted.
