Hi,
I ordered a Lee Pro 1000 press in 9mm from Henry at Budget Shooting Supplies and it should be here in a week or two.
I have read a few stories that this press can be a bit of a pain to set up.
So - can anyone offer any suggestions on making the process go a little easier?
Thanks for any info,
Glen

I've used a Pro 1000 for years. Had three, set up for 38 Special, 40 S&W, and 45ACP.
Only shoot 45ACP now. Sold the other two and buyers are happy with them.
Take your time setting it up. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS AND THEN READ THEM AGAIN.
You may experience a glitch or two initially but you'll soon figure it out.
Don't know my reload count for the 3 calibres, but 15-20 thousand over a span of 10 plus years.
Good luck.

Like the above poster I'm running 3 pro 1000 for 38/357, 9mm, 45acp.
All work well and produce accurate quality munitions.

That being said they have priming issues

I find cci works best. But Winchester will work. Lee says don't use federal primers as they are to aoft. And may go off. I have crushed at least 100 primers beyond recognition. None went off.

Check out sfliberal on YouTube he has a bunch of videos completely disassembling it and cleaning it.

Its a great press with an issue or two, but nothing serious. I likely wouldn't have gotten into reloading as soon as I did without he low cost of lee.
