tips on shotgun reloading

doddcameron:

I have been reloading for trap shooting for over a year now, with no issues. I use a mec 600, and a 366 auto progressive press. I was lucky enough to have someone show me the powder manufactures websites with reloading data, and explain to me all of the differences in wads, hulls etc.

If you want, I can take an hour or two and show/tell you what I know about reloading (for trap/skeet anyhow).

I live only about 20 min from Peterborough.

Cheers,

James

The lyman shotshell reloading book has nice colour pictures that show you what hulls are what. It also has a lot of data in it for birdshot, buckshot and slugs. I used it when I first started, but since I have started using the data off of the powder manufacturers websites. From time to time I still go back to it.

re. red winchester wads.

winchester, did produce red 12 ga. wads, but they are shorter than www12

wads ,they where for magnum loads 1.25 to1.38 oz . you will not get

pressure on non magnum loads. use www12 for 1.18 loads they are

longer and you will get proper pressures.
