Hey guys I am looking to lighten up my AR and Im hoping to change some parts out to titanium. Im looking for a titanium bolt carrier aswell as basically any other titanium AR parts that I can get. Does anyone know where to buy a titanium bolt carrier in canada or any titanium AR parts for that matter.

The ar-15 platform is already lighter than most rifles. I doubt you'll get any more performance vs $ value. Good luck though.

Are you looking to shave physical weight? Start with barrel, handguard, stock the ti bcg will save more reciprocating mass

Im trying to make the lightest possible AR I have a proof. Research barrel on it's way and the lightest foregrip And furniture I can find already. Im yet to find someone that will custom build a upper/lower out of titanium yet though.

Nemo arms make a ti ar I think somewhere around the $100k mark.

What type of rifle are you trying to build? Saying the lightest possible doesn't give us much. CQB, precision, three gun, all purpose rifle? What do you plan on using it for?

An AR15 can easily weigh sub 6lbs without any fancy components. The fact that you're spending a grand on a barrel that isn't really any lighter than an all steel 16" lightweight profile tells me that perhaps you're going after a high end precision rig that doesn't weigh a ton like most of them.

you may have to use a heavier buffer, or a heavier buffer spring and a barrel with a smaller gas port.
the timing will be different and no reliability

Those super light carriers ( JP aluminum) are for tuned guns.

That are not drop-in for your typical off the rack ARs.

Ti receivers won't be any lighter than aluminum parts. It will however, be ludicrously more expensive.

The weight of the bolt carrier is part of the recoil equation. Significantly lightening that part could cause feeding problems as well as accelerated wear due to increased bolt velocity.

Correct. However adding back weight with a heavy buffer after having spent a ton of money on a Ti carrier would be somewhat missing the point.

Why not go with a lmt semi auto carrier? It's lighter than the milspec fa carriers. And substantially cheaper than titanium. Which incidentally most tiatnium alloys performs poorly under friction loads.
