Titanium MUZZLE brake or steel?

Okay need help I am building a new rifle in 28 nosler. Hopefully it's going to be a shooter and in the hunting weight class. So far I have an ultra light defiance action and a mcmillan ultra light stock..lilja barrel..need to put a brake on this...and i really don't have much experience with them. How much weight will be saved if I run a titanium brake?

Depends on the alloy, but titanium is generally about 40% lighter than steel. Unless you're talking about a huge brake, the difference would be negligible.
 
If light weight is the goal, I would not brake it at all... you say you "need" a brake... no you don't. If you do brake it, don't waste your money on titanium, steel will do the job and the weight savings is negligible.

I don't know the exact scenario or circumstances as to why you'd need a brake. But in my personal opinion and experience, I wouldn't put a muzzle brake on anything that my shoulder could handle. Hard to remember ear plugs while pursuing big game.

Good point!

Shoulders heal, ears don't. I asked my tinnitus for an opinion and it thinks you're crazeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee to shoot a braked rifle without hearing protection.
