Hey Everyone,

I have the opportunity to buy either American Eagle 45 ACP in TMJ or FMJ. Just wondering which one is better? This will be mostly for indoor shooting. I understand the TMJ is non-Toxic and a bit more money normally. Is either more accurate? Is either less reliable? Is either one not as good through a ploygonal barrel?

If you had the choice what would you buy?
Thanks T

I've fired a bunch of both and cannot tell the difference.

Unless you pull the bullet off I'm not sure how one could even tell. I agree to just shoot whatever's cheapest. Indoor ranges have such strict ventilation requirements that whatever extra cleanliness you get from TMJ would be moot anyway.

I try to only shoot TMJ/WinClean/lead free ammo indoors. There is lead evaporation from the back of the bullet as you fire as well as heavy metals in the primers. Most TMJ ammo has heavy metal free primers. I used to work at an indoor gun range and witnessed first hand that long times spent shooting or at the range can cause elevated lead blood levels, and that is quite dangerous. Its my health and I dont mind paying a bit extra for peace of mind.

If you shoot a comped gun you won't have to clean that lead out of the comp either.
