just wondering if blueing was the finish used on the CF 1919's my greyish tnw does't turn my crank just wondering if anyone has tried blueing it?

All the ones I have seen are parkerized. Most anything WWII and newer will be parked. It is much tougher than blue and easier to apply.

they were all parked now with parking, metal lots prep and other factors can make it grey, black and even greenish after cosmo and years of gun oil/cleaning it I parked mine mine is a dark dark greyish black goes real black when i oil it good

thanx guys i guess if its parked it would be worth refinishin it even though the blue does look pretty nice and i think my bi pod project will be coming before this

YOu would have one hell of a polishing job to go from park to blue. I know the old 1919 and 30 cal aircraft brownings were blued. Myself I prefer park over blue any day. I see blue as a weak fancy finish like chrome or nickel. Too used military hardware I guess.
