...would one of you lucky owners of an ASR please do me a favour and post how much yours weighs and how it balances for you.
I have searched and see claimed weights of 5.5-6lbs but can't determine whether or not that is bare rifle or with mounted optics.
I am most interested in an accurate weight of just the bare rifle but if you want to post what yours weighs all-up with scope/sight and accessories that's just fine.

Mine weighs 7.4 lbs with:

Empty Magpul Glock mag
Burris AR332 scope
Magpul K grip
Magpul CTR buttstock
Milspec buffer tube
Provided front 1913 rail attached
Magpul 1913 QD attach point thingy.

The Burris AR 332 scope is a beefy scope, think thats were all the added weight comes from.
 
Thanks for the reply warren, armed with that info I think it's safe to say their weight claim of 6lbs is the bare rifle without the included chinese optic mounted.
Hows yours for reliability with the magpul magazine?
 
Have any of you brahs noticed the barrel coming loose at the range? Mine did after about 100 rounds. Not completely loose but about a quarter of a turn loose.

Wtf happened?

Works great with the Magpul magazines, works great with Glock brand Glock magazines BUT, if they have those pyramid shaped plastic humps on the follower, you have to grind those down, otherwise the TNW will half-ass tear the follower out on the last round.

The other issue that ive come across is sometimes when you insert a mag properly, regardless of how loaded it is, the first round will get caught on the feed ramp of the barrel. You will drop the mag (and the jammed round) then insert the mag once again, AND IT WILL DO THE SAME THING AGAIN ?! for every following round in the magazine. Take that make out and put in a different one,... everything will work fine. I still havent figured out what exactly happens there, but it is a known issue to TNW inc.. and supposedly there is a way to fix it, but I only use this gun for hunting at the moment, and this reliability issue comes up seldom enough that I havent bothered to do anything about it yet. Im sure if a owner was intending to use this gun in competition, they would want to address this issue for sure.
 
The barrel nut isnt indexed properly. There are grooves in the barrel nut that are supposed to line up with the pin and spring. Take the little set screw out at the front of the receiver and pull the spring and pin out. Look in the hole with the barrel tightened in. Do you see a low or a high spot on the barrel nut. It should be a low for the pin to fit into. A bit of sand paper and some twisting will remove the annodizing on the nut. Just jam some sand paper between nut and barrel and work it in circles. Test fit. Repeat until it fits. Barely any material had to be removed on mine. It seems to hold much better.

wow thanks for the detailed response. Will look into this even though half of what you said is jibberish to me hahah ( I am a noob)
 
It's the little ball that is under spring pressure located in the threaded area of the receiver. There is an allen bolt above it coming down through the top rail.
The ball is what makes the ratcheting sound as you tighten the locking collar.

ok that makes sense. So the dentent ball is adjustable in what sense? Make it more tight so the barrel does not come semi loose?
 
called TNW...you can tighten the detent ball via a set screw closest to the barrel........ at the top of your gun where the picattiny rail is there are like 2-3 screws there. if you are noticing a loosening effect like me...you can tighten it with an allen key. The guy on the phone said take the barrel out, take out the set screw, apply blue loctite and put it back together. The isssue is however you dont want to tighten it TOO tight bcuz that detent ball will grind against the barrel so there is a sweet spot. hand tighten it then check for functionality and any streaking if its too tight.

Ball or pin same deal I was talking about. It still has to fit a low detent to hold the barrel nut. Just have good look in the hole, you will see what I am talking about.

If you dont care about taking the barrel off, just tighten the set screw til it bottoms out with the barrel in. Dont mush the spring too bad tho.
 
So was at the range today and was getting major failure to ejects- almost every round. Take apart the gun and look what I see...

What the heck!?! The bolt carrier was scared up hard. Some major contact going on.
