these look kinda cool but an open bolt firing, 5 shot, cheap commie sub-gun clone? hardly worth 700 bux if ya ask me. id go for a vz58 before this piece. if the type 81 becomes available and non restricted, ill be all over that like flies on s#*t!

Do some reading buds, the Suomi is not a "cheap commie sub-gun"

It's one of the heaviest carbines I've held. It's got a weight of about 10.5 lbs.

Carbine? OMG, that thing weighs more than an M1 Garand! And people say the Ruger Scout is heavy.

These things are extremely heavy. I found the stock on mine to be disappointing two cracks in it and I haven't fired a shot yet.

However most of the parts on the gun are definitely military surplus.

Saw one In person the other day, was very tempted too walk out the store with one! But it was really heavy, I couldn't figure out why it had a old used stock on a new rifle, didn't realize they are part milsurp. Such a shame too have only 5 rounds
