Nice butt! Haha

I also replaced mine with a nice Bakelite one. No metal caps on mine though.

Tell me about the AA and the ground mount.
Post war MG42 or MG3 mounts are common, but MG34 are not...

Its an original Lafette 34 and and in the AA role I have the Lafettenaufsatzstück mounted to the Lafette 34. People just stare at this thing set up at the range! lol

Only items in the photos that are not original are the slings on the Lafette and the MG. I don't like to take my originals out to
the range as they are just too expensive to get damaged. Prefer to keep the originals home.

I wish all you MG34 types every success with your guns!

My late ex-father-in-law was a Panzer Grenadier who fought in the invasion of Poland, later wounded in France. He recovered in a French Chateau, taking care of horses ridden by the Officers. Access to the wine cellar was a perk.

I asked him his favourite weapons of the war and he said - "MG Fier und dreisig und das Kubelwagen". When I asked why - "When you needed it, the MG34 worked" and the Kubelwagen got him out of Stalingrad before the complete encirclement of the Von Paulus 6th Armee.

The 3 photos of the 34 on the Lafette were all taken in Canada

thats an awesome collection. how do you maintain the search-fire and recoil section on your lafette? do you just oil or grease it all?

the lafette bellow has been field painted at least twice but appears to be all original.
you cant really tell from the picture but i dont have an original pintle mount (still looking for one) and i think the brass catcher is post war.

P.s. no trees were harmed in the production of this photo (at least not by me) lol.
