Have the liberals put the TNW MG34 on the prohib list? I haven't checked to see myself but i was hoping someone would know for a faster answer. Also if its still legal to purchase, is anyone looking to sell theirs? Thanks.

Nope they are not banned.... yet
They can be problematic your best bet would be to get one that has the bugs worked out
I was thinking of selling one of mine but not sure

Okay, thanks guys. Ive heard mixed things about them too. I just want an mg 34 for my milsurp collection, seemed like a better Avenue than a deactivated one so i could potentially still shoot it. If you end up wanting to sell one just shoot me a message, thanks!

They are some work, I had one that would not fire more then one round then horrifically Jam. But got it to run mint, but still was a heavy greasy mess and the thrill wore off

I have one and it's a great gun!

I bought in from someone here on CGN and despite being advertised as "running well", the bolt was jammed forward and a bolt roller was missing.

It takes some work to get them running properly, but I have mine running perfectly now and have both the 8mm barrel and the excellent .308 conversion barrel.

Several of us have contributed to a troubleshooting thread on CGN at:

Expensive, but an awesome piece of history!

Wow, beautiful gun! Love the drum mag too, Im hoping to find a half decent one. I'll take a look at your thread after work, thanks man

Thanks.

The drum is a "gurttrommel" and actually is not a magazine, but rather holds a 50-round belt in it. Designed to keep the belt free of water/dirt in the field and for carrying the gun with a belt engaged.

Well.. i guess you learn something new everyday haha, thats pretty interesting actually. I never knew that! Another thing i love about those guns are their 50 round belts you're legally allowed to have.. although i buy enough 8mm for my mauser and i can already tell that mg 34 would have me broke lol.

I’ve had one for less than a year and learned quickly to have a lot of spare parts available. Especially spare bolt parts! But when it functions properly it is an amazing firearm to enjoy!

The latest weekly FRT revision report from armalytics dot ca included a semi-auto MG42 made with new and used parts. I guess if it was full-auto the rate of fire would be counted in dollars per second.
