Does anyone have a good idea what the TNW MG34 is going for right now? I seen one last week listed / sold for 9k but can only find two current listings for around 15k roughly.. thanks in advance.

It is going for what the guys are asking and what you're willing to pay...

They can't be imported anymore and there's a very limited number of those in the country.

How long has it been since they stopped importing them? Earlier last year they were going for 7 - 8k, just curious why theyd be listed for double their value from a year ago. Thanks

The guys asking 14k are smoking too much of JTs legal dope
The one that sold for 9k is about right
If I were to sell mine today that’s what I would price it at
The prices will hovever keep increasing as time goes by as long as they don’t get banned

TNW doesn’t even make them anymore
They don’t do the Suomi or 1919/M37 beltfeds anymore either
They were supposed to start making mg42s but I don’t know if they ever did or not

Yeah i agree theyll definitely go up more over time, just seemed like a significant increase from last year to now lol. How do you like the gun? No buyers remorse? Like its definitely worth it or overrated? Just want an idea before "pulling the trigger" on buying one.

If you do decide to get one, make sure it works first. There was a long thread here about these guns, their problems, and the fixes. Which can be expensive, and require parts that may not be easy to get.

I have one listed for about $15,000. and have turned down several offers very close to that just because I would rather keep it than sell it for any less.
And yes, mine comes with all the accessories, is in mint shape and works flawlessly.

And so there is the key. The accessories.

If I was to sell a 1919, an MG-34, or another semi-auto belt fed, the question of 'what comes with it' is a key to consider.

Gun alone, no tripod would be $7K.

Add in an IMA copy/clone tripod for $500, a real USGI or Wehrmacht tripod for $1500-2K.

Add in an AA leg/extension (if it exists for your tripod model) for another $600

Got a belt loader? They start at about $1000, if it's in good shape with the box/transit chest? $1500.

Belts? $50 each for the cloth ones, though sometimes that's even more.

A doppel-trommel? Add a grand or so.

A correct indirect fire sight? $1000 or more

How about a clinometer? $100, another 50 if it's got the leather case.

Spare barrel? Add $300

Spare parts for the action? Complete spare parts wallet? $400-1000

1919A6 'set' (flash hider cone, bipod, shoulder stock, carry handle) and you'll see another $800 or so.

Selling with ammo? Belted? Make it a buck a round in the belt.

Ammo cans?

AA Sight set?

Cleaning kit? Headspace tool? Timing gauge?

If I was to sell all the *stuff* with the gun, you'd be looking at a HUGE price-tag, but you'd also get a turn-key set.

Right, accessories definitely do add up thats for sure. Also, tons accessories to buy as well.. most tnw mg34s ive seen so far are normally sold with a bi- pod and maybe a couple belts. Not to take away from someone selling their gun with tons of accessories though, just means you have to find someone who wants all that and not just the gun, bi- pod, can and a couple belts. But you guys are right, they definitely need to be tinkered with in most cases, which costs money and i get that too. Great info though, glad to get a bunch of different perspectives. Thanks guys

I was looking at one a couple of years ago. My local gunsmith said don't touch it unless the seller is willing to prove that it runs well. I asked him if he was prepared to work on it and he said that he had already spent a long time trying to get it to run. In the end I passed....

What's the consensus opinion that all belt-feds will be next on the ban list? Want one, just not sure if it'll be money well spent...:stirthepot2:

I don’t think they will be banned unless they do a total semi auto ban on everything
There isn’t enough of the belt feds out there to justify targeting them for a ban

I'm coming in late... sorry

My MG34 was roughly 10K from Wolverine (all in) and I purchased it in 2019? It had a major slam fire issue and I had to ship it back to them for repair which they did.

Got it back and ran about 100 rounds through it and it smoothed out. No issues no jams. I run it wet with fluid film on the belts and a ton of lube on the gun. Trigger is ok for me - definitely not a 20 pound pull like some have stated. ZippY!

I would say that if someone is selling an MG34 gun and it runs good that 10K isn't unusual in a market which seems to value used firearms really high - like only 5% off of new price (I have seen some things for sale on EE that I could drive to Cabelas and get cheaper).

When you consider that if you want one they aren't made any more and the price of admission goes up. Rare and mechanically unreliable isn't a death sentence on price - look at Land Rover.

YMMV but I say buy one and have fun with it - it's unrestricted and belt fed - in Canada!!!!

(Edited to add lots of info here on keeping them running - Thanks Deathrawt)

I have a 1919 semi it has run 100% since i got it way back when they first came to Canada as navyshooter said its a pita to clean so if/when I shoot mine its minimum 250 rnd belt
