TNW Suomi m1931. Is it any good?

Buy it go to crappy tire and buy a cheap little welder you will be surprised on how many other things you can weld, your exhaust on your pickup, bike rack, rifles, broken crap around the house, etc.....

Does anyone know if you could get away with using an inversion stick welder to fix a receiver? It is not something I would want to practice on. :p

If you were ever in combat, it would look buff if you boshed someone with your TNW KP 31 & the thing broke in two. :p

I really wanted one... Until I handled one at the range. Buddy was nice enough to let me shoot too. I was shocked at the poor fit and finish and workmanship. It was terribly heavy and not particularly accurate. I took a pass and invested my money elsewhere.

I don't think anybody in their right mind would ever depend on one of those POS in combat ;)
I guess you could use it as a club once or twice

The original was neat. I see no point in what is being offered by tnw. Sub guns aren't supposed to be 3 feet long imo.

Have you studied the original KP31, including the doctrine behind its role? It was more along the lines of a light machine gun (easily changeable barrels, designated loaders / ammunition bearers for the gunner during the Winter War) but using 9mm and blowback instead of a locked breech.

One of the commercial dead ends for the Thompson Submachinegun was a version (1923) that resembled an lmg & it was chambered in something resembling .45 NAACO (.45Winchester Magnum). The Hungarian Danuvia 43m used 9X25mm Mauser Export & also was more akin to an LMG. Ballistics were approaching .357 magnum territory.

The KP/-31 is just another example of a fine 1-1/2 generation submachine gun that was also quite successful.

The KP31 was made under licence in Sweden if I am not mistaken, but it had an 8" barrel. This version was allegedly the favourite gun of Max Manus. Hollywood just can't get their facts straight.

If you wanted something modern, small, military rated, yet non restricted the choices are few. The BRS 99 comes to mind.

Anybody done a convo to 7.62x25? I'm thinking I may tackle that depending on the dimensions.
It's at home still boxed. Man is that box heavy!

I got the gun and it has a few problems. It is missing the buffer and the recoil spring pin sheared...
Gun looks new and I bought it from a dealer so see what they say.
Other than that the gun looks damn solid and will be a ton of fun.
Anybody know the dimensions and material the buffer is made of?
Not doing too well with my last 3 firearm purchases!

Still does anybody have the measurements for the buffer? I have the perfect material to make one out of.

thats the first complaint ive heard of, for missing parts.

what does the buffer look like? i didnt have mine long enough to strip it down.
this is all i could find on google. i dont picture this piece being forgotten at the factory tho.

The buffer is the little black (rubber?) piece between the cap with the spring that rides inside it on the rod in that photo.
It could have flown away when so
Wine at said dealer inspected it or before and it got missed... But it's definitely gone.

Finally got the missing parts from the seller and gun is working well now. Not too impressed with the sponsors lead time but it got fixed. Pretty good shooter

If anyone is looking for one I'll be putting mine up for sale shortly as I have recently moved abroad.

I just have to find a replacement trigger assembly. Any ideas on where to source one?
