to big for a coyote?

I saw a coyote that was shot with a 30-06 soft point factory round and it looked like the one in the picture above (about a 2" exit wound). Range was about 100 yards give or take.

Next weekend I am going to try speer 100gr .277 HP's out of the .270 win for coyotes.

Max load with the powder I have is 3400fps but I will dial it down a couple hundred as I don't like the fine line with my reloading.

I have no doubt that these will work. I'm not going for a perfect rug.

I shot one years ago with my 308 and Remington 150 grain Cor-Lokt ammo. Range was about 225 yards, give or take a few paces. Shot was a bang-flop and when I went to pick him up he was darn near cut in half. Really messy!:)

Sierra matchking bullets in 30 cal are totally fur friendly. Small exit holes at all distances. No BS. I've used 155, 168 and 175 on yotes and the exits are never bigger than 1".

The Inuit would eat their dogs in hard times. They would eat their clothes as in moccasins and such in harder times. With that logic do you think a wolf would taste good?
