Have wanted one for so long, they have a new series out and would love one. Any recommendations? I have had a couple 1911's in .45acp but I love the .357mag and have followed the coonan for awhile but was never really serious.

I have a friend with a Coonan and was talking to him about it on the weekend. I have also shot his Coonan. Our general conclusion was it is not really worth the trouble. If you want the power of a 357 just go with a 10mm. Please don't get all nit picky here the difference between 357 and 10mm are really very small. Lots more choices of guns at more economic prices. The Coonan has a very long grip and really isn't that special. Nothing really wrong with it but nothing really great either. I would say everything is OK but... It seems to me a gun that was built because you can rather than because it gives some advantage.
