Hello,
I have recently bought a H&R Survivor shotgun.
It has a rifled barel which accepts the .410 shotshell and the 45 colt.
There is a removable straight rifled choke that is installed/removed depending on what you want to shoot.
The frame is a SB-1.
I purchased another H&R Shotgun 12 gauge with a SB-1 frame also.
The 12 gauge barrel is 28 inches long with a fixed full choke.
It fits both SB-1 frames with no concerns.
I want to shorten it to match the .410 barrel which is also 20 inches long.
It will be easier to pack and fit into my shotgun carrier.
I want to be able to shoot 12 gauge shot and also 12 gauge slugs.
In the process of acquiring a 12 gauge or .410 gauge 22lr rifled adapter.
If there is anyone out there that is knowledgeable with the H&R SB-1 frame I have seen barrels that will fit the SB-1 frame that will shoot 44mag or 357 pistol rounds.
I do believe the pressures from these rounds are around 36000 and the .410 rounds are around 12000.
Can I load rounds up to this pressure for this SB-1 frame.
Just wondering why H&r would provide these barrels at a higher pressure if the SB-1 frame could not take it.??
The end result will be my bush gun.
And yes I am also in the process of getting everything ready to use 444 and 9.3x74r brass.
Will need info on loads for using this brass for .410 slugs.
But thats another project.
So I understand that cutting this barrel will be legal at 20 inches long.
Thanks all.
