To Glock or not to Glock?

As said 100 times above, GLOCK. Ask the VPD ERT guys what they think of SIG's. They have sure went down in quality. That's why my 226 & 220 were sold.

I went with P226 over any Glock because it fit me better. I like the Glock, but the Sig was simply a better choice.
That aside, you cant argue with Sig quality or reliability. CDN MP's carry them, Navy Seals, and a bunch of other LE agencies also.
You really cant go wrong either way.

Don't forget the SAS.

I have a G17 and a G21sf. These two models are the best of their bunch imho.
I have a couple of sigs, a smattering of H&Ks, a CZ Shadow, some wheel guns and a few 1911s too. Glocks will remain in my collection - they are decent pistols.

I keep hearing about the 34 being the dominant gun for IDPA...I'm going to give my USP Expert a go this year so we'll see how it fairs.

Well I have now owned, 2 - 1911's, a Ruger SR9, 2 CZ's, a Glock, and have shot extensively, a Sig 226, and a Beretta M9.

Of all the above I always go back to that G17! The funny thing is at first, when I handled one in the store I hated the feel of it. Got to shoot one finally while at the range and was amazed how well it shot in my hand.

I have since got rid of all my pistols except my Nickel CZ75, and I think I am going to be trading her for a Glock again. Either G17 or maby try out a G19 this time.

As far as parts and durability goes, how may parts does your SIG have? Now how many on a Glock?

Besides a 1911 the Glock is going to have the most easily found and replaced parts of any gun on the market!

This is probably a big reason alot of military and law enforcement like them, and price helps alot to.

I'm always confused when people compare steel handguns with polimer handguns. For me, it's like comparing rifles & handguns as they are so different. You have a Polimer CZ which will be a lot like the Glock. Before getting another "same old", try a heavy full steel frame handgun. If we had carry rights, I would probably get something light but around here, it makes no difference how heavy the gun is to "pack". Full steel frame handguns are just sooo much nicer to shoot in terms of stability & felt recoil. Your shadow is a nice firearm but why buy another "same thing" when you can enjoy some variety. SIG 226P, Baretta 92FS or even the CZ 85 Combat (my personal favorite)would be an awesome alternative. Of course you are always entightled to my opinion :D

I'd say get a glock 17 over 22. With taht said I have a Glock 22 on the way  but I got it for an awesome price. :)

Right now I have a G29 and wouldn't mind a Gen 4 G17 but I already have a couple of other 9's and don't really need one.

Sig is a good gun, so is Beretta 92! don't overlook it ;)

Glocks are all business, and that's the appeal to me. There is nothing aesthetic to a Glock. It looks like crap, idiot proof (shooting and cleaning), it eats all sorts of crap ammo, and keeps firing without failure. If your going to get one though get a SF or RTF2, im running a G17 and love it, but if you want something unique get some of the prior.

If you really dont want a Glock, get a M&P

I agree about getting a glock 17. My first handgun was a glock 22 and man does it have some bite with heavy loads. I sold it to buy a power case trimmer, but now that I have money I'm thinking about picking one up, because everyone should own a glock. I regret getting rid of it

Glock is the gun that you will have to own it and shoot it for a long while and decide love it or hate it. I turn out love it. Don't listen to anybody, follow your liking. Having said that, there are only CZ, Beretta 92FS/M9 and Glock well worth to buy because of not over priced.

Get a Glock just so that you always have a reminder why you like your 1911 best and your CZ 2nd best:nest:
