Just wondering what you guys think of this recently posted EE ad, seems very similar to one posted a couple weeks ago. I'd really like to buy it but I think I might get burned.

Its a Gen 2, so it's not like he bought it yesterday. Do your homework. If it feels ok, go for it. If he says anything to make you pause, back away.

IMO, it is a legit guy getting out of pistols.

In his Dillon ad he wants a face to face. Scammers don't usually.

(he should have sold the G22 separate from the mags.)

Brand new Glocks can be had for just over $500. The deal is great with mags. OK without.

I think it is some kind of police trade-in, from Police Ordnance, CRAFM or Sporteque or somewhere like that, back from when there actually were police trade-ins for sale in this country.

Gen 2, you are talking about a gun from 20 years ago. It may have low miles on it, hard to say. I would want pictures. All or virtually all the police trade-in GLOCKs have night sights on them, usually dull, but still usable. The six mags are the only thing that keeps the price reasonable in my view.

I bought a Gen 2 GLOCK 23 police trade-in from Sporteque a few years ago, which I think was $550 taxes and shipping in! And that is with the addition of a $300 (retail) brand new IGB barrel. That was only two mags (two pinned old-style "Clinton" mags, "LE Only") and it shipped in the plastic case for a S&W Sigma, but the price was right.

GLOCK 22 is like a $699 gun new. I can't see paying any more than $500 for such an old one. And keep in mind, unless you are really into Gen 2's or something, the newer ones are probably objectively "better", and GLOCKs don't necessarily last forever in .40 ... particularly the older ones (uh ohh... I touched off THE ISSUE).

Good information:) thanks.

1 post, 0 trader rating... I'm not saying that you'd want to have the firearm transferred and in-hand for inspection prior to releasing any funds... wait, maybe I am.

I hear what you are saying..but how many people would transfer a restricted into someone else’s name prior to be paid?
BTW I recently purchased an excellent condition H&K P2000 for under $500 on the E&E as well as a SIG Extreme (with about 50 rounds through it) for $800 shipped. Good deals do appear but do not last.

I guess it's one of those "risk vs. reward" scenarios...
