To re-barrel or not , or.......................

If you want a beater that goes hunting, get a Rem 783. If you dont mind a 7RM, there are a few new onsale at dealers for around $400.

Bed them and I would expect 1/2 to 2/3 MOA quite easily. The hunting bolt knob bugs me but most don't mind.

If you like the Vanguard as a platform, prefits are now possible so the rebarrel isn't going to cost too much... BUT if all you want is a beater, there are plenty of great running plastic fantastics to choose from.

FYI, the 783 in factory trim will be 1lb heavier then a T3.

Sell it on the cheap, a rebarrel candidate...

Replace with a 783 on sale, or something else, even if you turn it for $300, you can replace for around $400-450, so a new barrel for $150 essentially.
