Came into 40rnds of .30-06AP all 1942 DEN headstamp and a box of Winchester PowerPoint .38-55. Does this stuff have any collector value? If so what? Or can I safely blast away without fear of feeling very silly later on...

AP 2.00 $ to 3.50 $ a round getting harder to find as time goes by, still very shootable ( Garand owners) love it ,looks good in a clip . 38-55 not easy to find but its shooting ammo to the people that have a rifle in this caliber bet ya they would love to have it . On a gun show table it would go pretty quick .
 
For your information it's hot ammo . machine gun ammo . I shot some at my club many years ago when we had a dirt back stop . yes an indoor club with a dirt back stop . anyways I was using a P17 3006 and it was hard to open and close the bolt with the stuff I was shooting . I spoke to a buddy who is quite knowledgeable and he said he had shot some through a Garand and it was rough on the gun. keep it and display it legally or sell it or shoot it in a rifle that is strong . as far as I know it's not Illegal to possess. don't shoot it at you club if you have a steel back stop . they won't like you anymore.

In a more technical vein the above Cal 30 M2 AP was "for use in machineguns and rifles" US manual TM 9-1305-200 June 1961.
Also TM 43-001-27 June 1981 "Use MG cal .30 M37, M1919A4, 1919A6 Rifle Cal .30 M1."
